The Scorpion King

Thousand's of years ago there once was the Scorpion King, a great general who lead a campaign of terror throughout Ancient Egypt. During the last battle of that campaign he was defeated and he and his men retreated into the dessert. When he was the only one left, he struck a deal with the god Anubis. He would give Anubis his soul for all eternity if Anubis would grant him the power to defeat and conquer Egypt. Anubis gave the Scorpion King his army of Anubis and created for him the Oasis of Am Shere as his base. Soon, Anubis' Army reigned terror on Egypt and all were defeated. Upon the finish of the final battle, Anubis took his bounty for assisting the Scorpion King, his soul.

Speed the clock  up a lot to the 1930's and zero in on the lovely Evelyn O'Connell. She and her husband uncover the mythical Bracelet of Anubis and a whole whirlwind of things take place.  It is a race between them and Imhotep and his minions. You see Evelyn's son, Alex accidentally put on the bracelet starting an ancient prophecy of the Scorpion King, allowing him to come back to life. The Bracelet is a map that leads them to AM Shere. the final resting place of the King. First it was to have been Imhotep to battle the Scorpion King and retain ownership of Anubis' Army. Bu that didn't happen. Instead Rick O'Connell, newly discovered warrior of God, defeated him and sent him back to Anubis.

It was really a shame we didn't get to see much of The Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns. He is another tragic character that really in the short time you see him, grows on you. Of course it could be the muscles and near nakedness of the man too! But we will find out more upon the release of The Scorpion King (also known as The Mummy III). So be sure to watch out for it!
