Meeting Davy Jones

Myrtle Beach, SC
July 5th, 2001

I have just experienced my childhood dream-come-true. I finally got to meet the "love of my teenage life."

Davy Jones. Yep, THAT Davy Jones. The "cute" Monkee, as he was called back then...

I discovered why there are so many evil people out there, in the world…God gave Davy more than his share of “nice”. This is truly a nice, sweet, generous man. And he’s so down-to-earth, you could almost take him home to dinner…
(I really like and respect that in a person…) He came out to sign autographs; pose for pictures, and even give out hugs to a few lucky women…the others did not.

I’m not mad at Micky or Peter; they were under no obligation to us… They were obligated to show me a good time at the concert, and they showed me a GREAT time. They d
efinitely gave me my money’s worth of entertainment. I would pay to see them again, and again. (Collectively OR individually...)

So what does that say? To me, it says that Mr. David T. Jones once again went above and beyo
nd, for his adoring fans. And no wonder they adore him. His fans are FIERCELY loyal. I had heard about his kindness before. Now I have experienced it for myself. I used to think that someone that nice was putting on an act. But he doesn’t really HAVE to does he? He’s DAVY JONES!!! He was a "god" to a lot of us fourteen-year-olds, in the 60’s. He doesn’t HAVE to be that nice and kind. He just IS…

Unless you’ve experienced his kindness for yourself, you can have no idea how much this impresses
me…I’m not easily impressed. He now has another life-long fan…and friend. I have had many wonderful friends in my life. I should be so lucky, to have one of his caliber…

Don't be sad that it's over...
Be glad that it happend at all...
