When he walked past me, to get in the bus, I could see it in his eyes. He was exhausted. He got on the bus, without saying a word to anyone. It looked like they loaded a million pizzas onto the bus. (There couldn't possibly have been that many people on that bus.) People got on, and got back off. Micky had already left in a rental. Finally Peter came out to the bus, stood at the front, and waved to us for awhile. The equipment truck was loaded, and had already pulled away from the venue. It looked like they were about to leave....
Then he did it again.
Davy took pity on us. He came back off the bus, pen in hand. THAT'S the David Jones that I have just recently re-discovered. He posed for pictures, signed autographs, and talked with us. His voice was scratchy. He was tired. He was still there. What a nice guy...
Maritza was so excited to meet Davy, she didn't
even remember taking these two pictures...
