Summary:
After World War II, a mass grave is uncovered on the Southeast Asia island of Ambon containing the bodies of hundreds of Australian POW's who were captured by the Japanese. Based on a true story. AKA: "Blood Oath."

The story of theAustralian war crime trials after World War II.  The arrogance of the court, matched with clutching to tradition among the defeated Japanese, rules out any possibility of justice. Crowe's Lt. Jack Corbett 's little true movements, those tidbits of tealism contributing to the film's uncomfortable closeness.

Prisoner of the Sun 'Blood Oath' was Russell first experience on the big screen, he played a supporting role to Bryan Brown.  The only thing I can say about the role is the following, when Russell was on the screen he drew the camera, and had no problem playing opposite the more experienced Brown.  There were a few scenes where Russell showed the power that was to come.  Worth seeing for itself, and Russell is just added spice.

This film has been released on NTSC and while hard to find is sometimes in rental stores as well.
