To celebrate world peace and prayer day

Oh Great Spirit
The Sacred Blanket of Life
I would like to place my friends
Upon your Sacred Blanket,
To be blessed with your warmth,
In these days of transition.
As I make my heart felt prayers
On this day of Peace
I take the threads of the West
And tie them with the golden threads of the East.
Offering my prayer of illumination
And Harmony between east and west,
For the veils of ignorance 
To be torn away forever
Between all people.
I remember, Great Spirit
Sacred Mystery
When you guided my fingers
To the white threads of the North
The threads of spirit and wisdom
You showed me how to tie them
With the red fibers of the South
The threads of substance.

I pray over the Sacred ties
Of this Great Blanket
And I ask for peace and love
For these trusting and caring souls
That I have placed in your Blanket
I wrap there humble bodies
With your proud blanket
Of peace and harmony forever.

When you think of your life 
On this earthly plane 
Think of the Great Spirit 
As he enters your world 
Rising in the morning light 
Giving life to the flowers 
And all that lives. 

When you think of the passing 
Of your beloved Brother 
Think of his light 
As it illuminated your spirit 
All the days of his life. 

And when he had to leave you 
Know that he returned to the arms 
Of The Great Spirit. 
And when you cry in your grief 
Know that he has simply moved 
From your earthly vision. 
You are in pain because you miss him so. 
You miss being able to reach out and touch. 

And yet if you close your eyes, 
He is there inside of you. 
He is forever within you 
As you look at the setting Sun 
Be reminded of the brilliance 
Of his walk on this earth 
When you feel the gentle rains 
Coming from the clouds, 
Know it is the essence of his spirit 
That is felt upon your skin. 
And when a breeze does gently blow, 
Caressing your tear stained cheek, 
Know that it is his spirit, 
Bestowing you a sweet and loving kiss.
