Totems Web Pages
Warning!~!~!
I haven't finished all the work on this page yet, but it is a page honoring my totems. My three main totems are the Phoenix, Wolf, and Cougar. I also have others, which aid in specific things, like Raven, who aids in divination. This will be their happy hunting ground when I get it all done. I am still working on it, and they haven't been too helpful when it comes to how they want it too look.
This is Cougar. Say hello Cougar.... Nice kitty...Isn't she pretty? I have always thought Cougars were beautiful creatures. Just look at the eyes...
Cougar is one of my three major totems. She protects my physical side. In some beliefs, Cougar would be the totem who walks on my left.
What does it mean to have Cougar as a Physical totem? Can we say Roller-coaster? The ups and downs are never ending. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy it. She’s just like any cat. She does what she want’s when she wants, and how she wants. If she wants to be petted, fine, and if not, move quickly before she scratches you. But she much more than the normal house cat. Where a house cat can scratch you, cougar can separate body parts.
She’s very playful, and kitten like, when she wants to be, and yet she can snap into predator mode at any moment. It’s like living in an episode of "When Animals Attack!"
Aside from all that, Cougar is a great totem to have.
I'm still getting to know my Cougar, and it's not easy, because everything has to happen when SHE wants it to. But I have hope that one day soon, I'll know a lot more about her. Recently, I attended a Totem Walk workshop, where I got to know a little more about my Cougar... She has turned WHITE! Mind you, she is not an albino... no red eyes here. She just turned WHITE... SO Now I'm hunting for a white cougar picture. Anywyas,... My Cougar gave me a name I can call her. Snow! She's still the same playful kitten... but now I can call her Snow.
This is Wolf. Wolf is my protector of my mental side. He is also my teacher totem. In other systems, Wolf would be the totem who walks on my right. Wolf is an honor to have as a totem, because he is a teacher. Wolf teaches many lessons. I am honored he is one of my three power totems.
Wolf comes to me in three forms. One form is the timber wolf you see here. This is how I usually see him. This is how Wolf comes to me in meditation when I am seeking answers or a guide thru the mediation fields into realms unknown. I have no real name for him in this form, so I have simply called him Wolf. I recently dubbed him Zeus, and he seems to tolerate it. Zeus is the traditional meaning of Wolf... the teacher. He is both teacher and guide in mediation. I never really hear him speak, but I get thoughts in my head I know he guided there. He also speaks a lot with his eyes.
Another form wolf takes is a pure white wolf, who is a female I have named Artemis. She is very playful and very loving. She usually comes to me when I am not seeking answers but wish to communicate with Wolf anyway. She prefers to remain playful and like a puppy, letting Zeus handle all the serious stuff. Artemis really is like a puppy... and if you are not in a mood to be loved on and slobbered over and to pet and cuddle her, you probably should stay away.
The third form Wolf uses is a pure black wolf. This one is a male I have named Hades. He is a protecter, and usually comes to me when I seek protection. If I am feeling down, threatened either physically or mentally, Hades shows up. He is not mean, but rather loving a gentle to me, but very protective at the same time. Lately, Hades has also shown up as a warning. If I do not seek protection, and he shows up, I know that I am in need of protection. It's kind of nice to have a totem who anticipates my needs.
I'm still trying to find a kewl picture of the Phoenix that doesn't look like a burning chicken. The only one I have found is on the back of a tarot deck, and I keep meaning to scan it and turn it into a graphic, but since my system crashed, I have to load everything all over again.
When I talked with Phoenix for the first time, I was amazed at how beauiful she was. Every text I've read about the Europian Phoenix says the same thing... it's a bird of great beauty. So I can't figure out why the images of the Phoenix all look like a burning chicken.
Anyways, Phoenix is my Spiritual guide and totem. She would be the center totem in other systems. She is a fitting totem for my Spirituality, because you must have faith in both her and the spirituality, in order for them to affect your life. Without that faith, they both become nothing more than a beautiful myth.
Phoenix also represents the nature of my spirituality. The legend of the Phoenix is that is dies in a blaze of fiery glory, to be reborn. My spiritualy suffered the same rocky road, and still does. Each time my ideas die in a blazing bonfire, they rise again, renewed and somewhat changed, but there just the same. The person I was in highschool, and the person I am now, and the person I will become... all trial by fire.
Raven will also have her own place here, as soon as I find a picture of her she likes. So far she hasn't found one. (Much work... little play.) She's my divination totem, and she helps me to connect.
She's an interesting totem to have. I found her a few years back when a large raven showed up where I was working. Raven is usually a warning of something, and a message to be careful. When I started getting into my divination, she showed up on the astral plane. I assumed it was a warning to be careful, but with some prodding from Magda, I talked to Raven, and found out she is a wonderful psychic guide as well. She helps me tap into the flow of the web of life, and find the answers I seek.

Yet to come... Phoenix, Raven, and Snake. I also want to find good pictures for the other wolves. More totems will find their way onto this page, but for now, I'm working on these.
Okay.. that's your peek. I'm still working on buttons and pictures. The Cougar and Wolf buttons and Dragon Moon are by me. If you feel the need to use any of them, by all means, use them. Just please make an effort to credit me.
I know how it is.. you see a pretty graphic, you 'borrow' a pretty graphic... No harm, right? Well, those of us who make the graphics actually worked at it... and would like other people to know we did. After all, if you like them, chances are someone else will too. We like to know people know who did them.
Believe me, I know how it is... I have tons of graphics on my hard drive that friends sent me, or in my early years of surfing, I "borrowed" myself. The thing is, now I don't know who's they are, or where they came from. No big deal? Well, I'd like to be able to credit the people for their hard work. (Make a few graphics yourself, and you'll understand. Or maybe you have tried, and that's why you are "borrowing" them instead?)So please, just try. It's the nice thing to do.
