The Road of Life

The road of life is a winding path, with many choices to make,

Its route is filled with exits, Closely consider the ones you take.

Some exits will take you far off course, the right directions you may lack,

But it's never too late to turn around, and retrace your footprints back.

There is an exit called abortion, another called divorce,

Yet travel further down the road, You'll find one called remorse.

Self-righteous and self-pity, and some others you will find,

Corruption and addiction, unforgiving and unkind.

Some will make so many stops, as they travel along this road,

Dredging along from day to day, carrying more and more of a load.

The road of life is littered, with the exits that we take,

How long we have to travel it, Is not our choice to make.

Some will eventually make it back, from the exits they have taken,

And continue on this journey of life, to an exit called salvation.

So plan your trip ahead of time, and know the routes to choose,

And as you pass these exits in life, your way you will not lose.
