I moved to the Baca on August 4, 1996 and built a twelve-sided Cedar home with a pyramid roof. As soon as my home was built I created a 32 foot Cretan Labyrinth because I wanted to share the beauty and sacred land with those who wished to come and meditate. The Cretan Labyrinth is a form of Sacred Geometry which has been used for rituals and sacred ceremonies throughout history. It dates back 3,500 years ago. Sig Lonengren, who has researched Labyrinths all over the world and who is internationally-known as writer and speaker on Earth Mysteries says, "Labyrinths are outrageous tools. They can work real magic." Kay Torrez, author of Labyrinths says "New energies are coming into Planet Earth. Part of our brains will be used as never before. Preliminary research indicates the Labyrinth is a very powerful tool for expediting this process." Dr. Wayne London has written three books where he discusses an energy not currently known to physicians and scientists known as PHI ENERGY. He has advanced the hypothesis that the Labyrinth, especially the Cretan Labyrinth produces the PHI energy which may benefit PHI deficient diseases.. The circular design of the Crestone Cretan Labyrinth has eight Paths which relate to the chakras . Each of the chakras represent a color so the Crestone stones of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, purple and magenta define each Path. For those of you are not able to be present in Crestone and walk the Labyrinth, I suggest that you may experience the same effect as those who are present if you imagine the Paths as you look at the picture of the Labyrinth. Visualize the color and apply the explanation of each Path. Then allow your intention of walking the Labyrinth to place you in a meditative state and visualize yourself walking the Labyrinth. The following description of each Path will enable you to understand how each Path relates to the Chakra in the body and how each Chakra carries a special power within you. Much of the information about the Chakras has come from Caroline Myss's book Anatomy of the Spirit. Each of us is an electromagnetic field. Our vibrations attract what happens to us in our life, and we vibrate according to how we think and how we feel. The Third, Second and First Chakra have a relationship to physical power--power that is external. The Third Chakra deals with a Sense of Self. The Second Chakra primarily deals with sexual and financial matters. The First Chakra deals with Tribal beliefs: family, Church, and any Institutions or Organizations. In the Labyrinth you clear these three Chakras in the first three paths before moving on to the fourth path or the Heart Chakra. The Heart Chakra leads you to the Crown, then the Third Eye to the Throat (Will) and finally to your Higher Self, the place of meditation. |
