Yorktown and Fair Oaks-June
25-July,1862
Fair Oaks-June 1,1862 Gen.O.O.Howard was
wounded twice in the right arm. The second wound shattered his
bone near the elbow. It was amputated,and and Howard spent two
mounths recovering from his wounds before coming back..He was also
given the Medal of Honor after Fair Oaks.
Antietam-Sept.17,1862
November 29,1862-Oliver Otis Howard was
promoted to a full major general.
Fredericksburg-December 13,1862
April 1863-Major General Franz Sigel
resigned the Eleventh Corps after became upset with Gen.Hooker
.Howard was appointed comander of the Eleventh when the vacancy
appeared.

September-1863 Howard was sent out west
were he later became commander of the Army of Tennessee under
