Cuzco - Achaeological Capitol of Peru

Cuzco is known as the Archaeological Capitol of Peru.  It is located at the heart of the ancient Inca empire.  For travelers, it is the base camp to visit all of the old Inca ruins--many right there in the city.  You can also take a day trip to visit ruins in the Sacred Valley (Urubamba Valley).  And, of course, you'll want to take the train or helicopter to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu.

The official altitude for the city of Cuzco is 11,152 feet.  It is so high up, you'll get winded walking up a flight of stairs.  We were lucky because we didn't take any tours the afternoon we got there.  We just slept.

Okay, enough reading.  We'll show you pictures, now.
