After Wasp was found alive in the microverse and brought back from there, Captain America realized the Avengers needed to do better, to what Iron Man suggested getting bigger. A recon mission in Mars to encounter a mysterious figure called Ex Nihilo, who terraformed the planet, resulted in six of the main Avengers being held captive. Captain America was sent back to Earth as a message, three days after recuperating, he assembled part of the newly big Avengers, ready to take their teammates back.
