Monster Island was once part of Lemuria before the great disaster sent it and Atlantis to the bottom of the ocean. Monster Island became a resting ground for several beasts and creatures from the world over time. Following the Mole Man's rise to power, it became his personal launch pad for his surface world attacks. In recent years, the island has been abounded while the Mole Man took care of more urgent matters. Currently, the island is home to such creatures as the Gildra, Xarmu and the Fing Fang Foom.
