Lived in the Bunker for 4 years, but in 2029, his parents were gunned down in front of him by the Anti-mutant army. He was then raised in an orphanage until the age of 17, when he went out on his own to take revenge on the Anti-mutant soldiers that killed his family. He couldn't do much to find them from the little information he had, he only knew the serial numbers on the mechs they were in, the numbers having been burned into his mind. He teamed up with fellow orphan-at-the-hands-of-the-mutant-haters Oblivion in order to break into a robotic-protected facility where he ran a check on the pin numbers and found all the addresses he needed to revenge his parents. Oblivion was a little more vague, wanting to kill ANYONE involved in the Anti-mutant army, for reasons he never gave Mayhem.

It took Mayhem almost a year to finally find those who had killed his parents. He slaughtered 3 of them, but couldn't kill he other two because they now had families, and he didn't want to end up being like them. So he waited till their families had left, and knocked them through a wall. Not killing them, but invoking the fear of God in them, and giving them the need for a colostomy bag for a while. After he had taken his revenge, he found that his life was empty, and he no longer had any idea of what to do. He just wondered around from then on, until he wondered into the new Alpha Squadron.
