The snow capped mountains at the backdrop forms a nice background to this 'surreal' atmosphere. | Legend has it that the Goddess of Mercy appeared at the temple during a major flood and the villages were saved. From then on, families from various parts of Dali makes a trip every year to pay their respect to the Goddess of Mercy. It was also said to bless young singles for a successful marriage. | It's no wonder Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, is also known as the 'Spring City'! | After the fall of the imperial system in China, it has been discovered recently that valuable traditional medicinal herbs and old Buddhist scriptures were found in the three pagodas. Strangely enough, these three pagodas managed to miraculously withstand a few major earthquarkes in the Yunnan province. Scientist attributed this phenomena to the superor architectural design by ancient Chinese architects. | Crystal clear water around Butterfly Spring. Legend has it that a young lady eloped with her lover from her disagreeing parents and both of them jumped into the spring in a suicidal attempt to be together. Immediately after they jumped, they were instantly transformed into butterflies! They were always spotted together flapping their wings in unison. Isn't that romantic? Don't do that of course! |

| Hmm... just imagine if you own a house in such settings... dream on... | Hmm.... that must really be tasty ! The little girl was crying before I took this shot. The parents had to give her this local sugar lollipop to pacify her... See, after the lollipop she ignored my camera totally! |
