SOME OF MY ANCESTORS
NICODEMUS FRANKLIN MORRISNick Morris, my great grandfather was born November 25, 1853 probably in Morgan County, Alabama but later moved to Fayette County after his marriage. He was the son of Philemon Morris and Sallie A. Hackworth. He first married Eliza J. Wilhite and had two children. After the death of Eliza he married Susan E. Whitehead and they had six children. Nick was a very intelligent man. He kept a journal and recorded everything that he did during the day. He read a lot of books and helped with the telegraph in 1899. He was a remarkable man. He passed away on January 14, 1933 and was buried in Morris Cemetery which he began long before then. His memory goes on through his deeds and writings.
