  • ½ Cabbage (Band Gobhi) (shredded)
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger (Adrak) (minced)
  • ½ tsp. Red Chilli Powder (Pisi Lal Mirch)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil


  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan, add cabbage; cook for 3 minutes or until cabbage is soft. Add ginger, salt, and red chili powder. Saute for a few minutes then cover and let cook until cabbage is done.
  2. Add beaten egg and stir quickly. Cook for another 2 minutes; Cabbage Saalan is ready to serve.

Serving Suggestions: Serve hot with Chapati Roti or Plain Rice and with Green Vegetable Salad
