Intro

Greetings From the President:

Hello all and welcome to December's issue of the Word! Vanessa and I
got a chance to meet and see the Wilkinson's together on November 20th
in St. Catharine's (it was fun, we managed to get front row that day for
the 2nd show which was sweet!). Unfortunately my camera battery ran out
the first show so I didn't get as good of pics or as many as I wanted to
for you guys. Have no fear though, I'll be in North Dakota next month
and I've got a new battery in there so it shouldn't run out for a long
long time. If anyone's going to ND and wants to meet up just let me
know. I'll be there with my bud Danielle both nites :0) In other news Michelle has dropped off the staff because of her busy schedule, so
Vanessa will be stepping in as the Vice President and we won't be having an editor. Happy
Holidays and enjoy the newsletter!

What's Goin' On

The great 1999 mystery has been solved, thanks to Vanessa. There is
stunt tea in Tyler's mug...and the reason why he wasn't drinking it? He
was told not to because it was 6 hours old (hence no steam). Tyler says
it was like 5 am when they shot that scene.

The Wilkinson's have added a bunch of new and cover songs to their set
list. New Wilkinson songs include Lightly, A Little More Love, and
Lightening. As for new covers we have Cuts Like a Knife and Back To You
(both by Bryan Adams), I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Rait), Real
Bad Mood, Sometime Soon, and Snow Bird (Anne Murray).

Tyler's loves Hershey kisses and Cadbury eggs.

Amanda was sick with strep throat recently (poor girl, but I hear she's
feeling much better now so that's good :0). The Nov. 19th show was
postponed, but the 2 St. Catharine's shows on Nov. 20th went on as
scheduled. They just weren't allowed to talk before the show and Amanda
couldn't talk at all except onstage (to perserve her voice). Steve was
sick too, but not as bad.

They have recorded 6 songs so far for the next album.

The Wilkinson's horse is pregnant.

The Wilkinson's were on Opry backstage Dec. 2nd. They didn't sing on
the Opry, but there was a short interview about graduation and prom and
music.

Where they gonna be?

And so ends the big tour....more dates are yet to be posted..but when we
find out..you'll be the first for us to tell..so if you missed them this
time..be sure to catch em this time around!

Exclusive: Q&A with The Wilkinsons
by Richard McVey II

Since their debut Nothing But Love album hit the streets in 1998,
America has fallen in love with The Wilkinsons. These Canadian imports
have endeared fans with a soaring harmony blend and hits like "26¢" and
"Fly."

In an effort to continue their musical grasp on their fans, the family
trio, comprised of dad Steve, 44, son Tyler, 15, and daughter Amanda,
18, released their second album, Here And Now on April 4. The album has
already spawned the hit single, "Jimmy's Got A Girlfriend," currently at
No. 37 on Billboard's Country Singles chart.

CountryCool.com sat down with this talented family to get the scoop on
their latest album, their close family ties and why they enjoy being in
Nashville.

CC: How did the album title come about, Here and Now?
S: Part of it was from a song lyric in the album...part of the lyrics to
"1999," not Prince's "1999." (Laughs) The thing that we found
significant about it is that it pretty much represents what we're all
about at this point in our collective careers. There's
been vocal growth from the first album, there's been growth as writers.
There's a maturity level on the album, sonically and lyrically.

A: You have to grow. Tyler was 13 when we did the first album. I was 16
and I'm 18 now. We've matured a lot. Tyler's vocals have matured.
S: And I'm not sure people want to hear the same thing over and over
again. I really enjoyed the Eagles' first album, but I wouldn't want to
hear a rehash of that.

CC: How do you decide who sings which songs?
A: Paper, rock, scissors. (Laughs)
T: Most of the time it's mainly who we feel the song fits. It's not a
big debate of "Well, you got to sing two songs on this album, so..."
A: The song actually finds the person that it wants to go with it.
Sometimes we'll both hear a song that we want and it'll take a week to
decide, but that's a good sign that we're both loving the song. One of
us usually gives up.

CC: Steve, you did a song ("The Only Rose") on the album with Steve
Wariner. How was that experience?
S: It was great. We've run into him at awards shows and events and the
last few times he said, "Hey, why don't we get together and write?" So
we got together and it was a wonderful experience writing a song
together. We were absolutely thrilled that he was available to sing and
play guitar on that cut.

CC: Was it intimidating working with him?
S: For about 10 seconds. You can't sit in a room with him and not feel
comfortable. He's so down to earth.

CC: What's it like to be recognized?
S: We're not annoyed by it. I think you'd be more concerned if you
weren't being recognized. It's part of the job. I mean, don't put a
video on the TV if you don't want somebody coming up in a shopping mall
saying, "Hey, I saw your video."

CC: Steve, do you have a favorite song?
S: On the first album, my favorite song was "Williamstown." It never got
on the radio as a single, but I feel most proud of that song. For the
new one, the one that gets my juices going is, "Till You Let Go." I've
enjoyed writing the other songs, but there's something about a song in
particular that gets you moving.

CC: That's a good take on it because so many artists won't pick a
favorite. Most say that they're all like their kids and they love them
all equally.
S: You say you love your kids equally and that's great to do when you've
got two kids, but how do you love them all equally when you've got 7 or
8. Well, you may love them all equally, but do you like them all
equally.

CC: What's in your CD player at home?
S: This past year we wore out George Jones' new album, Cold Hard Truth.
We have Martina, we have Faith and Tim's albums. We also have Foo
Fighters.
A: I just bought Louis Armstrong. We listen to everything.

CC: Steve, do you ever listen to some of Amanda and Tyler's listening
choices and go, "What is this?"
S: Some stuff I do. I didn't really get into Cake. I like Collective
Soul, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Eagle Eye Cherry. There are some I
don't understand.
A: Yeah, and there's some of Dad's that we don't understand.
S: I like a little bit of jazz fusion and they do not understand it.

CC: You two (Amanda/Tyler) wrote a song together. What was that like?
A: We wrote "It Was Only a Kiss" with Robin Wiley, which is really funny
because we were writing the song from a female perspective and Tyler...
T: I'm not female.
A: So he came in with the idea, he got from [the movie] "The Mummy."
T: It was a funny place to get a love song from.
A: It was funny because he was trying so hard to interject some lines
like, "What if she washes the car three times a day and uh..." We're
like, "No, girls don't do that."

CC: Coming from Canada, have you had any culture shock?
S: Yeah, grits. What's that? (Laughs) No, parts of the U.S. have
regional personalities. Where we're from, Canadians are polite and nice
and all that, but I don't think they're near as friendly or as quick to
be friendly as they are in Nashville.
A: People are more reserved in Canada.

CC: How did you all celebrate your record deal?
S: I don't think we ever did. I know we celebrated our first No. 1 with
milk and cookies, honest to God.
A: Oreo cookies and milk from a convenience store.

CC: You don't hear much about the rest of the family, tell me about
them.
S: My wife, Christine, we've been happily married for 20 years. We have
a 10-year-old daughter, whose name is Kiaya.

CC: Where'd the name Kiaya come from?
S: It's from the movie called "Willow." Willow's wife's name is Kiaya. I
always thought it had such a gentle sound to it.

T: He picked the wrong name for her.
S: I tell you, she's a pistol.

CC: Your new CD is an enhanced CD. What comes on it?
T: [Fans are] going to get a lot of stuff—bios, Web links, pictures,
screen savers, wallpaper, all our videos and the making of "Jimmy's Got
A Girlfriend." It also has lyrics from our songs. It's going to be very
cool.

CC: Do you have your own Web site?
S: Yeah, wilkinsonsonline.com. It's under construction and we'll be very
involved with it.

CC: Do you have much time to get away from each other?

S: Amanda will go off to the mall for five or six hours. I'm not a
shopper. We're really fortunate that we like each other. God says you
have to love each other, but we like each other, too. I'm interested in
stuff [Tyler] does. Maybe not the "Star Wars" thing, but he plays NFL 2K
on Dreamcast and I'm diggin' that. Amanda and I enjoy being out in the
woods, taking walks.

CC: How do you like home schooling?
A: It's good. It's like the third year we've been doing it. I'll be done
at the end of this year. So June 28 I'm going back to Trenton, Ontario,
my hometown, and I'm going to graduate with my friends that I grew up
with. The high school there in Trenton has
been home schooling us through a [correspondence] program. So it'll be
nice to go home and have that celebration with my friends.

CC: Amanda, have you thought about college?
A: Yeah, Belmont University....I'm going to take the marketing and music
business courses.

CC: When will you start?
A: Probably this fall or next fall.

CC: Anything about you people would be surprised to know?
S: We're short.
T: We're very short.
A: Everybody thinks we're tall. When we come in concert everybody is so
surprised that we're the height we are. I'm like 5'1".
S: Tyler says we don't represent the Lollypop Kids.

Hamilton, Ontario
by Vanessa

Promtly at 8 the show began with Dick Reeves coming out to introduce Adam where at that time he reconzied my friends and
i's hats..heh heh...he waslike..those hats are crazy..what are they gas powered? so we yelled out, "no battery" And then Adam
Gregory came on...heh heh..first thing he did was noticed are hats and waved to us! After 20 minutes of performing he was
finished. DIck then came on and asked us another question about our hats..this time.."where did you get them from?" So we
answered back, "california!" So he was like, "your americans?" we go, "no!" and he goes..."Put Away your guns!" heh heh!! so
then he introduce Amanda Stott...another absoulte sweet heart!!Amanda took the stage beginnnig her 20 minute performence.
With Morry as her guitar player and Chad from the Wilkinsons and some other guy it was an awesome performence! Last
week amanda had said she wanted to go to Niagara Falls, so i was sure to ask her while she was on stage, She answered back
with no..so i was like, "oh i brought you a picture!" and shes like, "awwwww i have the best fans" so i went up and gave it to
her!

And her performece went on........

After a 15 minutes line up at the bathroom the lights went down
again..this time for who we'd all been waiting for in the first place...THE WILKINSONS!!! they ran on with a burst of energy
opening the show with "Outside Providence" they played for well of an hour and a half with an encore and an acoustic
set...."Labour Laws, we have to let the band have a break" Steve said! Heh heh...so with their rug and lamp they were set to go.
The songs they sang..gosh..i couldnt list em..i was all so eggcited!! THey sang many from whats goin to be on their next c.d...im so
getting it the day it comes out!!! my ultimate Favourite already "real bad mood" i asked if that was the title...Tyler said they wanted
to call it, "the song where we say ass" heh heh...so after their final song they made their way off preparing to sign autographs. After
showing my fan club card a 100 times we were lined up and ready to go. When my friends and i got up to the front we all asked
each of them for a hug and autograph and we all our pictures taken with them. I also got an extra one of Tyler standing there..3
simple words gets you a cute picture of him, "yo Tyler Smile!" and then you yourself give him a big smile! It worked! I gave Tyler
cadbury eggs and my friend lauren gave him a hershey chocolate bar...last week we had a discussion over what was better and we
came to the conclusion hershey and cadbury were. I gave Steve the program from the Ontario Country Music Awards, where they
had won Superchiever of the year, beating out people like Shania Twain! Steve told me they actually had the award in their dressing
room.

So after we were shooed out we made our way to the lobby where amanda stott and adam gregory were doing autograph
sessions. First we headed to Amanda Stotts where I got my things signed as well a picture and a hug from her.

Then we went to Adam gregorys where he remembered us and while even standing in line i looked over and he was lookin my way
and was waving to me so i was sure to wave back! So when i made it up to him i got a hug as well as my picture with him, He
smelled soooo good!! and then while my friends were waiting for the green lights to come on the camera he had his arm around me
waiting and he rested his head on mine..hes like a head and a neck taller then me!!! He goes, "Im so tall" and i go...heh heh no..."im
just really short!" and when he was signing my hat (which i got amanda to sign to) he was saying how his hair was poofy..and i was
like its fine!!

Then i realied i had forgotten to get Amanda Stott so sign my C.d book so i went back over cause there was no more line sayin im
really sorry but i forgot to get you to sign this..and she was like no problem..and SHE REMEMBERED MY NAME!!!

So then it was time for the Wilks again. We got up there talked to them for abit where i delivered Brians way early birthday surprise
to Amanda and told them things that others had wanted me to. And then..it was all over..time to go home..... So then this morning i
was listening to the radio..and the guy DIck Reeves was talking about the concert and he goes.."There were these 3 girls from
California there with lights weaved in their hair and when i asked to see there guns they wouldnt show me..so i dont think they were
really from there!" SO to correct him that we just got the hats from California and he told me that Adam Gregory pointed out to our
hats to him and said that they were neat. THen he asked me if i was one of the girls that gave Amanda Stott the picture of Niagara
falls and i said that was me! and he told me i was a real sweet heart and told me to have a good day...well after a night like that..let
me tell you..it wasnt hard!!

North Bay, Ontario
by Kris

It was supposed to be scheduled for Nov. 19 but Amanda was sick so that night Adam Gregory performed for like 50 minutes and
then he did a meet and greet.

The show started at 8:00 so we got there at 6:30. We were waiting out back with a bunch of other fans. The only people that came
out of the bus were Chris, Chad, and one of Amanda's friends. Then at 7:30 we went inside. We had front row center.

Amanda opened for them and sang 5 songs. After the second song she gets up and starts laughing..."When I talk I usually look at
myself...somebody stuck a mirror on my Keyboard!" There was a note on her keyboard that said "Where's Muggins"? Before she
started singing another song Muggins came down from the top of the stage with a string on it...She got a note off of that too that
said give us all free t-shirts or Muggins gets it. And she's like "Sorry, Muggins" She kept trying to jump up for it but it kept going up
on her...she's like "Is somebody up there???" Then she said that she sort of expected something like that since it was the last night
of the
tour and they would usually do pranks. She sang another song then someone shouted "Amanda you're hot." She looked really
surprised and then she started talking about how much she liked North Bay. LOL Then I don't know what happened but she was
like "Did you hear what I heard" and she kept pointing to the speaker but I didn't hear anything...She sang another song and then
there was a 20 minute intermission.

The Wilkinsons then came out and sang "Outside Providence." Right after "Can't Do A Thing With My Heart"
somebody shouted I love you Tyler...then Amanda's like "If only you knew..." So then Tyler started talking about an old pizza
under his bed. Steve said he thought it was a science project...but then Tyler says he gets hungry at night. So then they sang "Don't I
Have A HEart." After that a bunch of girls started shouting I love you Steve...Amanda and Tyler were laughing so hard. Steve said
something about giving loonies away before the show..LOL.They sang a
bunch of new songs..."Real Bad Mood," "Lightly," and "A Little More Love." They said a little more love was pretty new to them
and that they wanted to try it out. It was a really good song...Another girl shouted I love you Tyler and Steve said he wanted a
refund. LOL They were singing another song and I saw that tyler kept going back to see one of the guitar guys (I think it was Joe)
and laughing. At the end of the song one of Amanda Stott's guitar players came out.
He was dressed as nerd and his hair was parted and he had a flower. He went up to Amanda and gave it to her...he
looked at Tyler and started chasing him around the stage and tTyler was running away..Then Tyler turned around and put his arms
around him and jump on him...LOL I got a pic of that and I'll try to scan it. So funny...so then they put down the rug and lamp and
started singing songs with just Steve's guitar. They sang "Not Today." They said they were working on thier new album and had 6
songs done already. They sang a couple more then the
band came back out. They sand "Cuts Like A Knife" and Tyler was laughing at Brian. At the end of the song Amanda was like "Is
that my coat???." LOL He was dressed like a girl. Tyler said he had nice lipstick on and then Tyler started chasing Brian...They
sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" and a couple more and went off the stage...They came back on and sang "Listen To The
Music,"China Grove" and "Back Where I Come From." At the end a bunch of balloons came down and Tyler and Amanda started
to kick them. I got one that said "Matt + Derek Rule" and my
friend got one that said "Derek + BoBo Rule." Anyone know what this means???

We had to wait by the stage for the meet 'n' greet. We were the last ones in line. My friend had a cell phone with her
and promised one of her friend's that she would call her to listen to a song but she forgot so she said that she could listen to their conversation. We were near the start of the line so she's like I'm going to put you in my pocket...We ended up going meeting them together and the guy that was taking pics was like "Hey you a have a friend in your pocket?" And she goes up to Amanda "Wanna talk...?" And Amanda's like "She on there right now???" So they started talking with her. She asked how she was doing and her name and stuff. Then she gave it to Tyler. He's like "Hey Nicky wassup? Nothing? Why weren't you at the show???" Steve was like...oh, now you got him mad...And Tyler just kept talking about how she missed an awesome show and then he finally gave it to Steve. Steve kept teasing her about her just wanting to talk with Tyler...When they got off the phone We got an autograph each and I gave them a dream Catcher. My friend took a pic with the Wilkinsons then one with her and Tyler. I got a pic with them and I went to the lobby and went to meet Amanda Stott and got her to sign something and then we took a pic. The Wilkinsons did a public signing and I was last in line again. They said that you can't take a pic with them and that you could only get one autograph. I got them to sign another pic...annnd that's pretty much what happened...

*Hehe too funny, all those practical jokes! I woulda loved to be there.

The $100 Question...Right here!

This months question...If the Wilkinson's weren't singers what do you think Steve, Amanda, and Tyler would be doing for a job?

email us at: <A HREF="mailto:starwarsgirls@hotmail.com?subject=answer">

Last months question...(I changed it since we didn't get any replies and by now we know the beverage in 1999 answer).

If you could give the Wilkinson's anything (forget the cost and the
reality of it) for Christmas what would it be?

Kiaya- tickets and backstage passes to a Hanson concert
Chris & Amanda- gift certificates to Old Navy or some cool store like that
Tyler- an opportunity to meet George Lucas
Steve- a gift certificate to some sporting goods/hardware store - Tracey

And for a christmas gift i dont know thats kinda a hard one !
I think i would give Tyler: Playstation 2 i dont think he has it !
And Amanda: Probally a ring or something i dont know!
Steve: Im not sure either! - Ashley

I can ignore cost and reality? Good! OK, I'd give each of them (including Chris and Kiaya) a re-breather, and complete training (at
Sunset House, of course) on how to use it. - David and Sara

For a Xmas gift, I would give the Wilks a cell phone with a direct line to yours truly - so that if they're somewhat close to
Indianapolis, I can drive down and see them!! - Ethan

I really don't know. Probably a gift certificate for Amanda so she could go out and buy clothes and stuff. Any kind of video
game for Tyler. Life on the bus must get boring. And ear plugs for Steve No, really I would get him a Lucky hat. Does he still
wear that other one? - Michelle

The Pole Without Limits

This months...what's your favorite new cover tune? Send your answer to <A

a) Real Bad Mood
b) Cuts Like a Knife
c) I Can't Make You Love Me
d) Snow Bird
e) Back to You

Last months...(since we didn't put one in the newsletter I asked the
board members). Who do you think would be a good duet choice for the Wilkinson's?

a) 98 Degrees
b) Lila McAnn
c) Bryan White
d) McAlyster

McAlyster cuz there's 2 guys and 2 gurls and that'd fit with Tyler and Amanda's voice pretty good, but all would be good choices. -
Tracey

Bryan White! Ooh...he rocks. - Kris

Hey I think Lila Mccann! - Ashley

Bryan White, a duet with Amanda, someone like the duet with pual brant (that was soo good!) - Tiffany

I have to pick from that list? OK, I'll go with Lila McAnn. - David and Sara

The poll question: If I have to limit myself to the list, Bryan White seems the best fit. - Ethan

I'm going to go with Lila, she's such a sweetie!! And since there friends and all, nevermind the fish hook. - Lauren

I'd have to pick McAlyster to do a duet with the Wilkinsons. That would be really cool. - Michelle
