Ch.18

Candice's face dropped, is he for real? She thought raising an eyebrow. Suddenly he burst out in laughter, "haha, you should have seen you face, it went absolutely white." He laughed harder falling onto the floor.

"You're such a jerk! I told you to answer truthfully," she said smacking his butt.
"I had to..Ohmigod your face, haha," Nick crawled back onto the couch.
"Ok whatever just go," Candice rolled her eyes grabbing her soda.
"Ok so what were you like in junior high?"
"Oh my, I was the biggest dork, I swear," she answered.
"No, you weren't, no lying," Nick protested.
"Ok I mean I guess I was kinda popular," she confessed. "But I was the biggest loser," she added quickly.
"Whatever," Nick rolled his eyes. "How were you a dork if you were kinda popular?"
"Ok check this, I read four books a week, I was in honor society, I had almost all A's and I was a total drama nerd!"
"What did you look like," Nick asked grabbing some popcorn.
"Um..lets see I was kinda chubby, just a little bit and I had braces and long blonde hair kinda like now but shorter and it's all natural-now it's gettin darker though. Everyone always fussed over my hair they would come up to me and be like Ohmigod I want your hair..and I would be like whatever take it," she laughed.
"See it wasn't so bad," Nick grabbed more popcorn.
"So what were you like Mr. popularity or something," she asked grabbing some chips.
"No, I was by far the biggest loser! I swear to it...I had no friends. I guess they all stayed away from me cause I was always dancin and singin, but never in school, don't get me wrong. I know I stayed away from them," Candice laughed.
"Ok so you were this big loser in school and now you're the most wanted guy in the world," Candice laughed.
"Ironic ain't it?"

"Whatever," Candice stood up. "I need some water--soda is making me sick!"
"You're crazy," Nick followed her into the kitchen.

~ Three hours later ~

"I can't believe you and Brian did that, Kevin must have been so pissed," Candice laughed harder.
"He didn't talk to us for three days and he has never forgiven us about his shirt," Nick laughed.
"Ok I have to go to the bathroom, be good and don't get into any trouble," Candice teased walking off.
"What kind of trouble can I get into in MY house," Nick shouted.
"I dunno but I bet you could," she screamed back. Candice walked out of the bathroom and Nick was dancing on the couch to a Nsync song, she fell on the floor laughing.
"Hey I can dance," Nick jumped off the couch laughing with her.
"That's what you think cause what I just saw is pretty damn scary."
"Oh you're so nice, I bet you can't dance as well as me," he challenged.
"Probably not," she grinned. "I only took dance for 5 years."
Nick rolled his eyes, "yeah and who gets up and dances almost every night of the year...um I guess that would be you too eh?"

"Ok whatever who's turn is it," she asked grabbing a cookie.
"Ohmigod is Miss I dun want to eat junk food, eating a cookie," Nick kept a straight face and screamed, "ok someone call the press!"
"You're so funny..or how bout no!"
"It's my turn hehe," Nick curved his lips into a twisted smile. "Ok so tell me why your pants are down on your ass crack again?" Nick laughed.
"I wanted to look like you Mr. I have to wear um like this or it rubs!" Candice fell to the floor laughing.
"Haha I'm just rolling on the ground over here loser," Nick crossed his arms.
"You're no fun Nickels."
"I'm hungry," Nick stood up.
"Me too, what time is it anyway," Candice asked following Nick into the kitchen.
"It's ten O'clock," Nick grabbed some bread.
"That's why we're so starved we haven't ate any real food in hours."
"I want some peanut butter and jelly," Nick open the refrigerator
"PB and J for dinner? I haven't had that in forever."
"You haven't had anything in forever," Nick teased pulling out a knife.
"I know but I'm doing so much better, and I will get better and be normal again..no wait I was never normal scratch that."
"You're funny," Nick laughed taking a bite of his sandwich.
"You know everyone tells me that," she also took a bite of her sandwich. "But I dunno I mean I guess I'm just weird."
"You're not that weird trust me, you're just you..Ok I've met people that are so much weirder than you, lets see," takes a bite of his sandwich. "They had my name all over their face and me on their shirt and me on their shoes and everything, but I dunno if ya would call that weird, they just like me, ya know."
"Yeah I know," she laughed. "Isn't it weird though I mean, having all those girls staring at your picture every night before they go to bed and having everyone sing along with your music?"
"It is really strange but you get used to it, I think I've grown into it."

"So do you wanna watch TV now," she asked changing the subject.
"No, not really I'm just gonna go to bed it's late and I'm beat-all that talkin..man!"
"I'm gonna chill down here, night Nick."
"Night," he walked out of the kitchen.

Candice cleaned up their mess and went to her room and tried to sleep but she couldn't, it was only 10:30 PM. She quietly crawled out of her bed and walked down the hall to Nick's room, she put her ear up to the door; silence. She knocked lightly on the door and cracked it open, Nick was sitting there one leg in the covers and one leg out, he had on his headphones. She opened the door and tiptoed over to his bed and shook him softly.
"Wha," Nick jumped up; she backed up. He removed his headphones and sat up.
"Sorry," she whispered sitting next to him. "I just couldn't sleep-could you?"
"It's all right I couldn't sleep either," he turned on his lamp.
"So what were you listening to," she asked trying to break the silence.
"Um..just some Nirvana," he ran his hand through his hair.
"Yeah I bet you can sleep to that," she rolled her eyes.
"I got a question for you," he blurted out of no where.
"What?"
"How could you do it," he asked turning toward her more.
"Do what?"
"Not eat, get sick..you know."
"Oh, you want to know how," she scratched her head. "But why?"
"I dunno I was just curious," he lowered his head to the floor and looked back up at her.
"Lets see..Um where should I begin," she thought for a minute. "Well, at first you know I was like well I'll just not eat for a few days and lose a few pounds, but then I ate and I felt so horrible like eating was a sin," she paused searching Nick's face and then continued. "So I decided I should eat then just get ride of it, I thought it would be so simple, but it wasn't..it took a while to get used to, and plan, sneaking away and throwing up."

"Yuck," Nick turned away.
"I know but when you do it it's not like 'eww', it's like after this I'll look so prefect after this I'll be normal..but I never became normal," she paused again. "After it it's like I feel so much better it's an incredible feeling, like a great high or something. Then I'd say about after a year of doing it my stomach would just throw up on it's own I didn't even have to gag myself, I was like whoa, crap."
"Twisted," Nick mumbled hoping it might lighten up the situation; it didn't.
"I learned how to hide it so well I had everything planned so well, everything I said was a lie it was so horrible, all I did was lie and act my teens away with everyone!"
"Wow that's," he trailed off not knowing to right words. "Well, at least you're over it now and you are normal."
"I guess you could call it that," Candice mumbled sarcastically.
"I'm so tired," Nick turned off the light and laid down pulling the covers up to his neck. Candice started to get up when Nick pulled her back down. "Don't go, I don't want to sleep by myself tonight, please, just for tonight."
"Ok," she laid next to him. "Just tonight."

~ The next day ~

"I guess I'm going back home today," Candice sighed putting some stuff in her car.
"Yeah that's horrible," Nick frowned.
"You have to come and see me a lot," Candice put her last bag in her car.
"I'll try," Nick wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek.
"Bye," her voice trailed off as she walked toward her gate waving.
"Bye," Nick whispered walking to the exit and putting on his sunglasses.

~ A week later ~

"Hey girl whatcha up to?"
"Lets see..cleaning cleaning and then some more cleaning I swear I feel like fucking Cinderella here," Candice whined.
"I'm sorry, why don't you take a break?"
"Haha..you've met my mum right, well that's why I can't rest she's always working me then she watches me eat then makes me sit around for two hours without moving!"
"That's awful, why does she make you do it," he asked sitting on the kitchen table.
"She says it's the only way to keep me from going back, from getting sick again but its not true Nick I swear," she cried.
"Shh, it's ok I believe you. What is that horrible sound?"
"Oh that's just the dog you gave me barking..his name is Dakota and he misses you!"
"Dakota? Like the truck or whatever?"
"Yeah ya know the truck," they fell silent. "So what have you been up to?" Candice asked trying to make conversation.
"Um nothing really just chillin we are getting ready to go and record some new stuff and AJ is touring, but that's bout it."
"Yeah I heard about it," Candice frowned.

"It's no big thing, he's having fun."
"Oh..cool hey but I'm sorry but I've gotta go I'll talk to you later or whatever, bye." Candice hung up the phone and stared at her notebook. "I should tell him about this," she said aloud.
"About what," a voice asked.
"Oh, Max it's just you," she sighed hoping off the table. "Nick, I'm writing a story about us..Faith in Chaos--and I think I should tell him, cause I've put it up on my site and I think he should know. My doctor says it's great therapy."
"Well, Miss, you should tell him." Max said wisely, walking out of the kitchen.

~ That next day ~

"Hey," a voice called as a strong arm grabbed her shoulder; she spun around and almost screamed.
