"Mommy, how did this snail find a shell when we live 20 minutes from the ocean?" Now, that's what I call an inquisitive mind! Guess what we're going to learn about this summer? Snails and slugs.
This picture was taken of Samuel and the bear bread we made. We were doing the book Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? by N.W. Carlstrom for the week. I always try to incorporate a craft/activity every day for the book we are doing that week.
This week we were doing The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss. Samuel dug up the dirt along the back walkway and planted marigold seeds, then watered them. He's been watching the dirt everyday since then! :o)
This picture was taken of Samuel when he had a really bad cold and didn't want to do school that day. All he wanted to do was "paint masterpieces". Who say's you have to stick with a curriculum every day? We learned how to mix colors to make other colors this day.
Guess what my FAVORITE thing to do is?
You guessed it.....READ!
This is a picture of Samuel on one of our picnic lunches. We pack a basket and eat on a rock in the woods out back. Lunch doesn't always have to be eaten at the table you know. After our picnic, we ALWAYS go on a bug hunt! :o)
Gone Fishing, My Daddy and Me! Bruce has been teaching Samuel how to fish. Sometimes I think the two of them would rather be out fishing all day long then at home or working. They are inseparable fishing buddies.
(This is my FAVORITE picture of Bruce and Samuel)
