...the fire that burns brightest...

Episode 26:
in which the heroes explore the temple to Xan Yae...

Summary:

Pushing through the overgrown temple, the party finds an unsettling replica of themselves...

The temple, obviously, has been abandoned for quite some time. Underneath all the growth, lies a legacy of students, artists, and priests, now long gone.

Instead, there are beings made of the very plants the heroes journey in, and they are aggressive in defending their territory. Thorn wolves, vine girrilons, phantom fungi, gargantuan assassin vines, and shambling mounds block their way to the center chamber.

There, the heroes discover statues, carved perfectly, in the image of a kocrachon, the Unseen, a lillend, and a hound archon. Even more disturbing, are the smaller statues of the heroes and their past companions.

Who carved them? And why?
