CHECKING
FACEPLATE FOR BALANCE
1. Select neutral gear position.
2. Swing the faceplate (by hand) approximately 40 degrees.
3. Allow faceplate to swing to its rest position.
4. Rapid swing indicates considerable out of balance.
5. Slow swing indicates minimum out of balance.
6. Angle plate comes to rest at B.D.C. (Bottom Dead Centre). Adjust weights
outwards from faceplate centre.
7. Balance weights come to rest at B.D.C. Adjust weights inward
towards the faceplate centre.
A balanced faceplate will not swing
into position, it will come to rest at any point throughout 360 degrees.
