After the return from Namek and everyone was wished back, every one went back to their usuasl lives. Kami offered Piccolo a job as the new guardian of earth but Piccolo refused adn told him to watch out as he had seen some disturbing things in his meditation.

Gohan was fishing when he was introduced to Krillin's new girlfriend Marron, and told of a party being held at Master Roshi's. Gohan wasn't allowed to go so ran off with his pet Icarus. On Kami's lookout the Spice boys, Garlic Jnr's followers, had appeared with their leader Garlic Jnr. Kami put up a good fight but was no match for Garlic and him and Mr. Popo were shrunken and placed inside a jar. Garlic found the black water mist and spread it over Earth. Whoever breathes in the mist becomes evil and a follower of Garlic. At Master Roshi's Chi-Chi arrived to get Gohan, but he wasn't there yet. Krillin and Marron were diving in the sea when the black water mist blew past infecting everyone at Master Roshi's. (Master Roshi, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Yamcha, Oolong and Puar) Gohan arrived and saw Krillin, they went back to Kame house only to be attacked by their friends. To make things worse the Spice boys showed up. It looked bad for Gohan and Krillin until Piccolo showed up. He told Gohan and Krillin to head to Kami's lookout and he will fight the Spice boys on his own. As Gohan and Krillin flew of, Piccolo got bit numerous times making him also evil. Gohan and Krillin arrived at Kami's but the Spice boys and evil Piccolo was already there. The fight began between Krillin, Gohan and two of the four Spice boys. Gohan was just about to be blasted when Krillin took the hit. Gohan got really mad and powered up and killed two Spice boys with a Masenko. Piccolo attacked Gohan and beat him bad. Krillin tried to help but was bit by Piccolo, making Krillin evil. Piccolo was about to finish Gohan when Garlic Jnr stopped him as he wanted to finish him. Piccolo grabbed the jars containing Kami and Popo and set them free. It appears that it was a plan all along. So, Piccolo fought Garlic and Gohan and Krillin fought the remaining two Spice Boys. One of the Spice boys threw Krillin of Kami's and Gohan got mad again. He killed both Spice boys and saved Krillin. Things were looking up until the Makeo star showed up. (Garlic's source of power) Both Spice boys came back to life and Garlic transformed.

The Spice Boys also transform but Gohan and Krillin beat them. Piccolo is losing so Gohan gets mad and attacks Garlic, but Garlic is immortal. While this is happening Kami and Popo are on a mission to save the Earth using the sacred water. They succeed and Garlic gets mad. He re-opens the dead zone but Gohan creates a shield to protect Krillin and Piccolo. Piccolo tells Gohan to let down the shield and blow up the Makeo star, Gohan does and Garlic shrivls up and is sucked into the dead zone

Krillin and Marron are nearly engaged but it ends between them. Everything is normal
