Best Game
Characters Ever:
MARIO
(SUPER MARIO)
Nintendo
|
It's nigh on impossible to describe Mario.
The only thing you could say would be that he'll bring a smile to your face. His big, round Italian plumber face and red dungarees are almost comical. Good ol' Nintendo.
Although his first video game adventure was
rescuing Princess Peach from Donkey Kong in the game of the same name in the early 1980's, Mario came into his own in his first independent NES Adventure- Super Mario Bros. Since then, his games have spread far and wide beyond the constraints of platformers onto the awesome Mario Kart (Often regarded as the best game ever) and even turn-based party games. And throughout, he is remembered for his pure, simple genius. |
With the games came the merchandise.
And with the merchandise came the movie. Opinion is divided on the film (I think it's good, everybody else thinks it's rubbish). And even then, with the money pouring in, Shigeru Miyamoto never once considered a cheap cash-in. |
Mario is one of only a
handful of games to have a movie made in his name. That's how big he was. |
"It's-a-me! A-Mario!" Ah,
yes. The opening to Mario 64 is one to be cherished. If you've seen it, of course. |
In fact, recent addition Mario 64 is also said
to be one of the best games ever.
Now THAT'S staying power.
The games world learned a lot from Mario.
May that continue for many years to come. |
