The Colebrook Football Club has been one of mixed success while being accommodated by the ODFA. They initially joined in 1974, from the South Eastern Districts, when they last won a premiership in 1969 under Trevor Smith. They were meet with nearly immediate success, winning the ODFA Flag in 1975 under Nigel Bean, winning 15 of the 20 games, and defeating the more fancied Mt.Pleasant in the Grand Final at Tunbridge. For the next 3 years, the club struggled, including 1977 when they only won 1 match. After 1978, they went into recess. In late 1988, after a bet in the local pub, the club was reformed, exactly 10 years after they went into recess, when they were permitted to re-affiliate. Between then and 1994, the club was met with very little success. They lost 52 straight games between round 1 1989 and round 10 1991, when they made the long journey to Bothwell and beat the home side by 52 points, and old timer Gordon French refers to the match as 'the greatest victory for the club in 120 years'. They ended winning 3 more games for the year, and finished a respectable 7th for the season. The following season was the most successful during their second stint with the association, winning 6 matches under Peter Clements, and only just missing out of the finals by one match. They in fact forfeited one match in '92 due to snow. The next season was purely disastrous, to say the least. They were back to their old form of 1989 and 1990. They lost all 18 games by an average of a whopping 206 points, which included in round 2, an Australian record when Woodsdale kicked 77-29-491 to Colebrook's 0-1-1. The highest score the saints kicked for the season was 7-6-48, and the closest match was when they lost by 88 points to Mt.Pleasant. In 1994, the club recruited Clarence star Michael Dougan to lead the side, in order to revitalise the club. This didn't eventuate, and only won 2 senior matches. Their reserves for this season performed an amazing feat, similar to that of Strahan in the WTFA. They went through win-less, but had to compete in the finals to make up the 5 (Woodsdale, Mt.Pleasant and Ross didn't field reserves sides). They went into the Elimination Final against Tunnack without a win under their belt, but caused the upset of the season to defeat the eagles by 6 points, which Gordon French refers to as 'the second greatest win in the club's history'. They lost next week in the 1st Semi to Bothwell by 71 points. In January 1995, the club went into recess due to a lack of officials and players, and has unfortunately remained there ever since.
