Red Wag Tail Platy

Platys are excellent fish for a first timer. You may want to add a little bit of salt to the water but keep in mind your other fish may not like it too much but all fish can do with some salt. They are livebearers and are not too difficult to breed. Now this may sound cruel but Platy spawn are excellent food for other fish, especially Bettas if you are looking to breed them. The hard part about caring for Platy spawn is that they are very small so if you don't mind having a real slice of nature in your aquarium let Mother Nature take care of the spawn, your other fish will thank you for it.
