Appearance: Alain is about 6 feet tall, and heavily, but not overly, muscled. Black, ebony hair crops around his high cheekbones and well-cut features. He often seems grim and humorless, and is a loner. He is very cold and distant to nearly every one around him. Only his eyes hold a spark of life, for his eyes betray unspoken turmoil. He is only in his mid-twenties, but takes everything seriously.

Game Statistics: As a Dragonbane, Alain gets a Trump bonus to any action dealing with dragons and dragonkin. However, Alain must succeed in an average Presence (Reason) action to use any non-dragon related magical items (Starblade has passed this acton, so Alain now wields it without restriction), or accept the help of a mage. He must also make a daunting Presence (Physique) action to resist attacking any dragon he sees. If the dragon is metallic, then the action is lessened by one degree.
Due to his extensive background as a warrior, Alain receives an automatic Trump bonus to any attack with a sword. However, he never receives any Trump bonuses to attacking with thrown weapons, and all defensive actions with a shield are one degree more difficult.

History: Alain grew up in a small village in Solamnia. His mother died while giving birth to him, and his father died when he was nine. He was an only child and had no other relatives. He was unofficially adopted by Gregor Subliven, a Legionnaire. He joined the Legion of Steel, and rose through the ranks under the command of his foster father and mentor. On a mission into Qualinesti, Alain and his company were ambushed by the Knights of Takhisis. Subliven was killed. While in Qualinesti, he fell in love with an elfmaiden. She was then killed by a black dragon named Ebony. Alain was given Starblade by her dying father, and he left the Legion to pursue Ebony. He doesn't know how to properly use the Starblade's powers, they just happen. For years, he shut everything out of his life and relentlessly pursued Ebony.
However, his life changed when he met a vivacious half-elf named Kara. With her help, Alain managed to slay Ebony and find a small measure of peace for himself. The two fell in love and settled in Solace. However, Alain's obsession with the past drove a wedge between the lovers, gradually forcing them apart.
