A Little About Our Disabilities

Lauren and I are both visually impaired. Lauren is completely blind and I am legally blind due to a disease known as Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Here is what those mean.

Completely Blind

The person cannot see at all.

Legally Blind

Having some vision but not enough for normal life.

Retinitis Pigmentosa

A genetic disease that kills the cells in the retina over many years.

The both of us are members of an organization called the National Federation of the Blind. Their mission is to make the world a better place for the blind and to eliminate the myths surrounding blindness.
