Travel to London

May 1st, 2003

YIHA, WE ARE FINALLY HERE. After a 1.5h flight and waiting fucking long time for our luggage and then another 1.5h by bus to get to London. How the hell is it possible? The damn airport is 85kms away from the city! Ok! Now we are at the hotel and "wtf now?": our rooms aren't ready till 2pm and it's 12! Now we gotta go have lunch before we can unpack! Anyway, we found a cute little italian restaurant, and guess what? the owners ARE italians, so my mom could talk italian again (hehehe =) my mom wanted to go to Rome, so at least she talked italian =þ).

So by now we have our room (quite spartan, btw, for the hotels I'm used - I'm a fucking posh girl when I can chose the hotels -). Next problem is getting our luggage from the room we stored them in. Lucky me found the gals that have that room, cause we almost can't get them. And hey, once I got the room and the bags, we decided to go for a walk nearby. Omg! I forgot to put the film in the cam and look what's just walking by my side! Shame on me, I'm stupid! =( This guy looked pretty weird, walking with a fucked pic-film hanging from his shoulder and a carrot in front of his face! I know you won't believe me cause I don't have pics: shame on me again =(~

Okey Dokey, time for some internet (I'll have to keep myself apart from computers from now on, but I wanted to say I got here!). ENGLISH KEYBOARDS SUCK BIG TIME =þ no matter what ppl say, I'm not going near one again unless there's no choice... Time is over on the computer, so I'm gonna spend some more money buying thingies: WOOHOO, new DrMartens boots with metal caps! and only 55 pounds (yeah, I'm sick =þ but I love 'em). Btw, walking through London is like wtf? you have pedestrian crossings with traffic lights but like FUCKING NO-ONE pay attention to them. You just look both sides and cross, no matter wether the light is green or not (reminds me of lovely Rome too =þ, I love that place with impossible-to-drive highways and everybody crossing when and where they feel like it). Another funny thing here is: you are walking, and it's about 3pm and no-one except for tourist are in the street. You get into somewhere, and when you go out again, around 4pm, the street is FUCKING CROWDED with ppl running from work back home, eating nooddles, kebab or fish&chips!! It's like "Hey, Madrid is always crowded except for main holidays =þ"

Ok, it's about 6pm now, but I'm fucking dead tired by now, it's been a 13 hours day on a *4h sleep*. But I'm gonna have some spare time now: relax in my room, a bit of music, a book, and with luck I'll fall asleep till tomorrow. But fuck, we gotta decide what we'll do tomorrow here. Humm, friday, I suppose we'll go to see some museum or smth and walk a bit around the city again. I might wear my new boots so I can kick stupid ppl off my way >=) And while I write this I'm having some nice tuna & pasta salad: my eating times are so messed by now (I had breakfast at 5 (home) and 9(plane), then lunch at 1pm and now it's around 7pm but, hum, I'm on holidays so FUCK THE TIMES!!! And I'm laughing my ass off talking nonsense =þ.... I was thinking.. I'll wear my new boots to get back home, so I'll have some fun at the airport (I so love it: "yeah, check my boots" >=þ)

May 2nd, 2003

Ok! SECOND DAY HERE!! My first duty today was getting another room cause we didn't sleep quite well due to damn noises... And the shower was pretty fucked (we flooded the bathroom). Got a new room, not that big (hehehe, like the other was big) but at least I hope the shower will work and I won't have problems with noises at night.

Humm, we decided to spend the day at British Museum. We saw almost all the rooms, but I'm fucking tired. Egyptian rooms (OMG! they expolied the tombs!), Greek ones (hehehe, I tool a pic of myself... I mean, Artemis =þ), Mesopotamy, Assyrian...But I couldn't visit Japanese ones, nor greek ceramic.. *sob* those rooms were closed. We had lunch at British Museum restaurant. It's sooo good! (and expensive, btw, but what's not expensive here?). But the oriental box was great. After that nice lunch, all afternoon walking to do some more shopping: some books, a bit of food, and a lot of window-looking =) I saw some beautiful jewels (damn, damn, damn expensive =( I wanted a bracelet and some earrings :~) and OMG! antiquities: lovely glass jars, necklaces made of lapis lazuli...

Btw, I already decided what we'll do tomorrow: Camdem Lock is the next stop. Some fun in street market =). Let's see what I can find there. Mmmm nice dinner: baggette filled with red onion, tomato, mozarella, sweet corn, mushrooms... and cake for a nice end. I love eating these things when I'm not at home =þ Woohoo! next experience of the day: damn shower almost killed me with the pressure and almost wet all my hair (again!) so I ended looking like Kenny, to keep my hair dry =/ (and Kenny was killed in the shower, very Psicosis-alike scene =þ) Funny thing: I was watching tv, and the tv menu was all writen in PORTUGUESE yeah =)))

May 3rd,2003

THIRD DAY!. After breakfast (I miss my fresh fruit and muffins and milk and good coffee... *sob*) I took the tube to go to Camden Lock Market. Firts of all, London tube SUCKS. It's small (I almost hit my head!), and a total mess, and like why can't be the lines just going to one place? these damn ones have to take a turn to go to the same place by two different places ¬¬, The place has one part with street shops, lots of stuff, and too expensive for a street market. Then you have regular shops, which rule, cause you find even more stuff and the entrances are decorated (I took pics of a couple of them I liked)

This first shop rules so much, it's the only reason why I want to come back, cause London is not much of a thing imho :þ I will come here to buy a couple of things (/me will dress like a gothic chick to have some fun some day in future ;p) And then I'll visit another couple of shops. The entrances are not that great, but they have *lovely* dragon rings, ans some other things I adore (silver rules for jewels) SOOOO only reason someone would drag me back to London (I love other towns in the U.K.) IS buying me these things *wink* *wink*

I bought tons of books, call me a geek (I am, so I don't care) but I love books =þ. After expending all the morning here, we got back to the hotel to leave the bags there and then off to find a place to have lunch. I had seen a kebab place walking by Tottenham Court Rd, so I headed there, and had a great lamb kebab :~~ Damn, only kebab could make me eat meat again (shame on me :T but I like the taste of this kind of lamb). Nice lunch, and the waiter was really nice too ;-) Walked all afternoon, till I couldn't take another step, and then I got back to the hotel to sleep a bit.

The evening wasn't that interesting after all, all shops close here too early, and nothing opens till late... so imagine. So, more walking through London, and getting something for dinner. By this time I'm dead tired... And I miss home (I thought I'd never say that, but London has that effect on me)... So last night here, but I'm too lazy to go out.. so dinner and some sleep is what I'll have...

May 4th, 2003

Last day in London, I don't want to come back home even when I miss it... And I don't want to come back cause that means back to normal life, and that SUCKS. So, you know breakfast, and let's see what you can do a sunday in London! Holy crap! Everything is closed till midday! wtf is wrong with this ppl? I spent some time on the internet to check mails and talk a little before I get home... so that is, till 12pm

I can buy my food now: salad, salad and more salad (did I say I love salads? ;þ) and have a great lunch sitting on the grass in a cute park =D and lay under the sun (I look like a perfect english =þ) After that, back to get my bag and WOOHOO 1.5h by bus to get to the damn airport. I wonder who had the great idea of building an international airport 85km away from the city (!!!) Btw, there I learnt my luck in London is the same as first time I came here: I still find all the fucking best places and cheap things!

So, as I planned, I'm wearing these pretty boots with metal caps on my way back home (I promise I will upload a pic one of these days, be patiente :-þ). First good thing: people gets off your way when they see these boots (RULAZ!) Then, when I walked through those metal detector arks... YEAH I made all the alarms run off!!! And all the ppl around stared at me like "wtf is that girl wearing?" Yeah, this rules (I look so normal in my jeans and tshirt that ppl were astonished =þ)

Damn, it really ruled at the airport wearing those boots, and another good thing is: people do really keep off your way when they see that kind of boots! That soooooooo rules imho >=þ So, then when I got to pass all the checkings and such, I'm just gonna hang around the airport till I know which gate do I have to board... Silly shops, nothing interesting to buy over here: CDs are too expensive, and they don't have the kind of music I like. Chocolates... not belgian, not worthy expending that much...Guess what? I'll have to get to the farest gate... I so love these international airports ;þ (who the hell allows this designs?)

And I'll finish my visit to London scaring the people on the plane >:) MUAHAHAHAHA They still don't know flying is a x-treme sport :þ But I know, and they'd better shut up, or this is gonna be the first time and the last time some people here take a plane >=) How can you scare someone on a plane? Easy: make them pay attention to some fluids' sounds, then make a notice on flaps, spoilers, etc moving... and last, comment on the structure of the plane. Did I say we had some turbulences? WOOOHOOOOOOOOO Fear me >;þ
