Re: [PROTEL EDA USERS]: Hello
I hope this forum will not give you the wrong impression about Protel. It
contains posts about problems people have had using the software and does not
contain the 'silent majority' who use Protel and are happy. I think most users
would be willing to recommend Protel 99 SE and with this group and Protels own
tech support (which responds within a couple of hours to emails) you can usually
get through.

Subject: [PROTEL EDA USERS]: Hello
Hello everybody, I am new to the group - just joined in yesterday. I've been
using Orcad for a while at my old job. I just got a new job and my boss ask
me to look for an EDA. So, I am thinking about buying the Protel 99SE -
lucky me, I found out about your discussion group.
Could you please tell me what are the main differences between Orcad and
Protel ? I see that if I buy the Protel 99SE for about 6K then it can do
almost every thing that ( Orcad Capture + Orcad Layout + Orcad PSpice ) and
they will cost over 10K !!! Do you think so ?
I am asking for your help to make the decision - I am really appreciate
about that. Thanks
Regards
Minh Huynh
