Over the years I've listened to many stations from around the world. My hobby began back in the 1970's when I use to listen to the offshore stations from the Dutch coast. My favourite was Radio Atlantis a fine station although short lived. Also about this time I purchased my first real radio a Yeasu FRG7. This was followed a few years later by the digital display of a Kenwood R1000. With these receivers I was able to listen & reply to many distant shortwave stations. In the 80's a great deal of my time was spent listening to the fortunes of the offshore stations Laser 558 & Radio Caroline. At present I have a Yeasu FRG-100 with a Realistic 2006 scanner. For on the move I use a Sony ICF SW100. With many radio stations now available on satellite I still get great pleasure from listening to the sounds of Shortwave.

For many years now I have belonged to the British DX Club. For a small annual charge they publish the excellent monthly journal Communication. Packed with information for the radio DXer. Members are welcome from all over the world. For further information & the latest membership rates contact Dave Kenny, 10 Hemdean Hill, Caversham, Reading, RG4 7SB, England.
