Games Modes

As we have introduced earlier in the guide, there are six exciting game modes availalble in Little Fighter 2, with each having different rules. Choose the one that fits your fighting urge.

In any game modes (not including the demo), a numerical summary of the game will be shown after the battle. This is common in all game modes.

Summary
Summary. Know your records and learn for your next fight.

VS Mode

This is the most basic and common game modes in the game. Try this for a quick fight with a friend or a bot. There are no rules in VS Mode. Last man, or the team, standing on the battlefield wins.

There are some special function keys (F6 - F9) available only in VS Mode (See How to Play).

Stage Mode

The purpose of the Stage Mode is to team up with your friends, and proceed through the map, killing enemies that stand in your way. An ultimate survival challenge. Stage Mode is perfect when you want to play a cooperation-oriented game, or go for the kills records.

There are five levels in Stage Mode, with five maps in each levels. And in each maps, there are a few sections where you'll face a group of enemies consisting mostly of Bandits. You are allowed to move onto the next section after you have erradicated the whole group. A few bottles of milk and beer may be given between sections. After a few sections, you will receive a health heal and can move onto your next map. You will have completed the level when you are through with the fifth map of the level (you will get the summary screen here). You will then continue onto the first map of the next level.

Select Stage Mode to view the Character Selection screen, then choose your characters that will join your team (all players will be assigned in Team 1 to avoid friendly fire). You can specify which level to start from. Also, changing the difficulty of the game will, aside from bot skills, change the amount of health received between maps. It is vitally important to avoid as much damage as possible in the harder difficulties.
As a side note, in Easy difficulty, you will encounter a little less number of enemies with about 70% HP. In CRAZY! difficulty, the number of the enemies will be as 1.5 times as many, and their HP will increase to 150% of the normal health.

As a basic rule, enemies in Stage mode have little health. A Bandit or a hunter can be taken out with two or three punches. They do, however, form a large group, so don't go all gung-ho! Often you will also fight mid-bosses such as Mark and Jack, and at a certain point in a level, Heroes like Deep and John will make an appearance. Also, always keep in mind that not all the enemies appear from the right side of your screen. Be cautious at all times, before these baddies surround you...

A bad example of MP usage
Don't waste your MP just for one Bandit!

Also take in mind how many people are in the team. It may seem there's a better chance of winning with many friends rather than fighting solo. There is, however, a pitfall to that idea. The more the members in your team are, the more enemies you will face! Never let an extra friend join your team.

Fighting solo Fighting with 8 players
When fought alone, you will face three Bandits in 3-1. With eight people, twenty Bandits will greatly welcome you!

But don't despair, not everyone you see in your way is an enemy. From time to time, you may see some tied up hostages waiting for someone to rescue them. Attack them to free them. These hostages will be on your side, and will fight along with you! It never hurts to have more friends (hostages do not count against the number of incoming enemies), so make sure to save every hostage you see! On the side note, some hostages may have the number of their lives shown above them. Hostages with more than one life will resurrect with full HP after dying. Also, some enemies may, after defeating them, side with you for extra power!

Successfully complete Level 5 to see a message from Marti & Starsky Wong! You may receive a slightly different message when played with Difficult or CRAZY! difficulty...

Little Fighter Championship -1 on 1-

Play a more competitive styled game right here - Championship! You will play as one of the eight competitors in a tournament, and fight three games to the championship. Try it when you want to play a 1 on 1 duel with a friend, with a bit twisted rule, not available in a simple VS Mode battle. Also great when taking turns to play with many people, as only two players can play at once.

Select 1 on 1 Championship, but instead of the Character Selection screen, you will see the Tournament screen. The control is still the same, so go ahead and choose your character. Make sure to assign your character as "Human". Otherwise, you will get a pretty boring championship! If no other human players are joining, assign all the remaining characters as "Computer".

Once all the competitors have entered, you will be asked if you want to shuffle the combination. Select Yes to randomly scramble between the order of who to fight whom. This can be repeated as many times as desired. Select No to exit. You will then get the setting window. Select Fight! to begin the championship!

When it's the "Human" player's turn to fight, you will be asked to press the Attack key for the controller you will use. Select Yes to the following question ("Is the setting OK?" Yes, obviously!). Commence battle!

After the battle is over, the tournament will go on with the next fight. The winner may proceed to the next battle. The loser is immediately disqualified - control your temper and watch the rest of the championship. If both were killed in the battle... random player wins. Battles between two computer players cannot be watched, but the stronger character seems to win more often.

Championship
The battle of the champions... dead or alive.

The player to win all three battles will be the champion! A fanfare tune will play along with your character's portrait. Congraturations!!

Little Fighter Championship -2 on 2-

This is exactly the same championship with the previous game mode, except here you are to team up with another player to compete for the "champ of the twins"! Great if you have a best friend to play together with you (especially useful with multiplayer).

Like the 1 on 1 Championship, you will see the 2 on 2 tournament screen. The players in the team have to be placed next to each other, under the same team. You will be asked to shuffle the combination, so scramble as much as desired and exit. Then select "Fight!" to commence the tournament. When it is a human player's turn to play, you will have to press the Attack key for the controller you are using, then the battle begins.

タッグ戦決勝
Will you and your partner prove worthy of the champion?

The team to win two battles will win the championship. Of course, you will still need your pure skills (and luck, most probably), but the key to the true "champions" is nothing but teamplay!

Battle Mode

Up for some mass destruction? Try Battle Mode, where you'll experience a war-like rumble - and I'm not just saying it! In a team of two, players lead an army of Bandits, and fight with full force to eliminate the opposing team - with around 40 to 80 people simultaneously on the screen!

Select Battle Mode to enter Character Selection. Every players joined will be assigned in Team 1 or Team 2, and will be the leaders of the Teams you are assigned in.

Once all the players have finished, you will now move onto the Team Customization screen:

Team Customization
Bug: Milk and Beer graphic are reversed, but not much of a problem.

Here, you can first choose your team members' defense rate. The higher the rate, the less damage every characters in the team will receive. This can be used as a handicap. Right below is the main reason to be in this screen - team organization.
In Screen is the number of the unit to be on the screen simultaneously. Reserve is the number of the replacement supplies for the unit. When the unit is killed, as long as there are Reserve units left, the unit is automatically added so the number of the units on screen will be equal to the In Screen number. Use your Attack key to increase the number by 1, or your Defense key to increase by 5. The limit for the numbers are 10 (20 for Bandits when used Inferior (L)) for In Screen and 30 for Reserve.
If you want to change the setting quickly, there are some preset settings for you to use, with different styles of organization.

When you're done with the customization, click OK! to go on with the game settings and rumble!!

Battle rumble
There's no time to stop - Keep fighting!
The background used here is "Beijing 2008". Get it from our download page.

Team 1 will start from left, and Team 2 from the right. The Team 1 troops are colored differently so to avoid confusion. Since this will be a battle against a lot of enemies, it is recommended that you use a character that can attack multiple enemies at once, such as Henry, Firen, or Bat.

Once every leaders and units in a team die, the game will be over and the survived team wins. If you managed to lose this battle, learn from it and make sure you won't make the same mistake the next time!

As you can see, a game that features such various and exciting game modes such as Little Fighter 2 is a very attractive entertainment. If you disagree, that's probably because you are only playing VS Mode. See if you still claim otherwise after playing all the game modes - I'll bet a thousand dollars you won't.
