Fruits Basket
Group Images - okay, so there's not that many...but still...
Sohma Kyou - the hot tempered, impatient, rather stubborn cat of the non-zodiac. He is obsessed with beating Yuki, although Yuki kicks his ass most of the time. One of the things Kyou learns in his time spent at the Sohma house is that other people's feeling can be easily hurt by his brash manner.
Sohma Yuki - often called "the Prince" where Tohru goes to school, Yuki is the pretty boy that everyone admires. He even has his own fan club! But in reality, Yuki is very self-conscious, and is unsure of his own role as a person. He's rather cold sometimes, especially to the girls who fawn over him, perhaps out of embarrassment and perhaps out of fear that they will discover his curse, and revile him.
Sohma Shigure - he is mostly seen in a kimono, although he does wear a suit on at least ONE occasion.... he is a novelist and constantly talks about all the girls waiting for him. Espcially high school girls. He's so excited when Tohru says her friends are coming over, till he actualyl meets Uo-chan and Hanajima....
Sohma Hatsuharu - the ox of the zodiac, Haru too hated Yuki because legend said that the rat rode the ox to the feast. People made fun of him for being the ox and being stupid. While very young he confronted Yuki, spilling out his feelings and his hatred, but Yuki asked him if he was stupid, and he, of course, said No. And Yuki said, "I see." Actually, being Japanese, he probably said, "Soo desu ka." And Haru realized his hatred was stupid. Although some yaoi fans say Yuki and Haru are in love, I think Haru looks up to Yuki like a brother. Haru also has two personalities--the laid-back, quiet side he usually displays, or "White Haru," and his angry alter-ego "Black Haru." Black Haru's a right bastard. His hair, white on top an dblack on the bottom, is also natural, as he apparently proved to the preisdent of the class. I'll give you one guess how... O_o one other thing he lacks: a sense of direction. He could probably get lost in a straight corridor.
Sohma Kazuma - the martial arts teacher who basically trains the rest of the family. He's not one of the juunishi himself, he's just a cousin. He comes in and sort of tricks Kyou into revealing his third form--not to hurt Kyou, but to show him that Tohru will accept him even if she knows he turns into a monster. It was probably hard for him. I love that when Kazuma leaves to return to his dojo, Kyou runs after him and they have a little tussle. Then Kyou says, "One day I will be worthy to call you father." A very sentimental moment, and Kazuma could have embraced Kyou, but instead he hip checked him off the path. Go Kazuma!!
Sohma Hatori - a doctor, Hatori often attends their cousin Akito, the head of the family. Akito is a real jerk who, apparently bearing the "brunt" of the curse, feels justified in making everyone miserable. He abuses people who fall in love--usually the girl--and pulls all the strings. He really is a bastard. Hatori's a sweetheart, though. He had to erase the memory of his girlfriend, who found out about the curse (as a side note, he also erased the memory of Momiji's German mother, who couldn't handle that she couldn't hold her own son, so Momiji has to secretly watch his family from afar).
Honestly...it's hard to take this series seriously. But it is so darn cute!
