Le Mans 2001 - Monday 18th June

The Return and the Breakdown

After a good early start out, we left the field of delight, and Andy's tent which we ran over to try and make the 3pm ferry. However fate had other plans for the minibus-o-fun.

Well this is where we snapped the cam belt on the transit. 30 mins out of Le Mans and the engine stopped. Fortunately we were very near a lovely little town called Braumont-sur-Sarthe where the van was fixed for us, we had some lunch, and generally had a very relaxing day....which was nice!

At the cafe where we had lunch and Dave, Nick, Phil and Andy got very very drunk the owner was very friendly, if a little hyper and her husband drew some very convincing pictures of us. See what you think below.

We all eventually got home after 7 hours in Beaumont, and a mad dash to the ferry where we were the last but one to get in. Good timing. We got back to Andy's around 12:30am and disbanded from there. I didn't get back to my house until 4am and it was getting light, damn it I was tired.

Looking forward to next year already.
