August 5, 2000 2:04 a.m. I was really excited this morning because I finally got to go to my dentist to fill my one cavity and fix my chiped tooth. I know, it's really odd that I love going to dentist, but I always leave feeling refreshed. So, with have a numb mouth that was slightly swollen, and completely immobile (I had a everlasting frown on the left side of my mouth, even trying to smile)…I went to work. I got there and Emily was closing the gate. We walked to the bank, and then she bought a cookie. The morning went really slow, and to pass the time by, I played games with myself. One was were I wouldn't look at my watch for a half hour. The point was to count the songs and see if I had a good enough internal clock to let a half hour pass by. I was pretty good at my game…I won three times!!! I kind of felt that going into work was pointless because I only had to work 3 hours, but hey, what's new?! After work, I went shopping for a bit, and I ended up just buying a pair of pant at PacSun with the thirty dollar gift card that I won. I drove home and took a long overdue nap. I didn't wake until later, when I was supposed to go out with Katie. Actually, she called and woke me up, and said she would be at my house in an hour and half…when she woke me up again…whoops!! So, we went to Fridays, and shared some fahahas…I mean fajitas. We decided to watch a movie. Katie hates scary movies, but she suggested that we see "What Lies Beneath." I absolutely loved the movie. It was a bit scary, but the funny things is that every time the audience screamed, everyone then started laughing. I have never seen so many people laughing at such a suspenseful, scary movie. After the movie, we felt like talking so we went back to Fridays. It was fun because we got one of my fav waiters…seeing as I've been served by every single waitor in the place…more than once. It was sort of after hours, and they only let people above 21 in. I sneaked into the bathroom so that Katie could get a table for us. So, back at the table, our waiter asked Katie if she wanted a mudslide because she had ordered one before, and this is where I asked to order an ice cream sandwich(alcoholic drink with crème de cocoa)… He actually took my order and didn't card me…hehe.. It was delic. Katie and I talked , and we sort of got on the subject of our friendship. We have been friends now for five years, but four of those years, she has gone off to college. It was really difficult the first year, but we have molded our friendship into something go great, and it is unlike any other friendship of mine. Even though we may not communicate much during the school year, we are able to come back for breaks or the summer and be with each other as if no time has passed by. I feel absolutely comfortable around her, and I know that the physical distance between us will never be a factor in how good of friends we are. Katie drove me home and we talked in my driveway until 3:00 in the morning. It was just like old time. I bitched and griped about Josh for a little, and we then came back to her and I. We left on a really good note. Tonight was my last night with Katie because I am going back to school next week and she is going on vacation on Monday. We both got out of the car, and hugged each other. We were both getting kind of teary eyed, se we kissed and hugged goodbye for one last time. It was a great ending to a really awesome evening…
