August 17, 2000

This morning, I had several complications. Cassandra and I had been planning this trip to MN to see her friend Bev. I invited Dom because I knew we would probably be dancing, and she is one of the only persons with whom I feel comfortable dancing with. Well, I woke up to a message on my computer from Dom saying, "I need to talk to you in the morning…" She had left it the night before, and the only time she gives me notes like that is when there is something wrong.

What a way to start the day…

So, I go to her room to borrow a hairbrush, and she walked me back to my room. I asked her what she need to talk about, and I got the same old…"I'll talk to you later.." I just wonder why she is always so persistent to talk to me, but given the chance, she never does… Anyway, she started saying that she didn't even know why she was asked to come along…blah, blah….she felt like she was being used. I replied by saying, "I can't believe you would think that I was that selfish…"

I went into my room and finished getting ready. I walked back to her room and sat on the couch. Hey roommate left and everything just blew up. She walked off out of her room, and so I left as well.

I went back to my room to call Cassandra to say that the trip might be off…Dom and I got in a fight…blah. Next thing I know, I am getting a call from Dom. I didn't answer it. I thought in bed for a little, and I decided to call her back. Her roommate answered the phone and said she was on her way to my room. At this point, I left my room to have a cigarette. Two minutes later, I get a call on my cell from Dom (hmm…it takes about ten minutes to get to her room to mine and back.. That must have been some pretty fast walking…) Anyway, I said that I was outside. We started talking, which escalated to yelling, and it was just pure hell…especially in front of all the new students with their parents trying to move in.

We basically yelled at each other about everything that had already been said, but we ended up hugging… I mean, I totally understood where she was coming from, but it basically boiled down to her not having faith in me as a person/friend.

About and hour later, we were all packed and we had picked up Cassandra. We were finally on our way to MN…finally!!!

The trip up to MN was kind of boring, but Dom and I talked, and we were surprisingly having a good time. Cassandra slept in the back seat. About three hours later, we arrived at Bev's house. It was so good to see her again. Seeing Bev just made me realize that it was going to be a good weekend despite the mornings events. We sat around for awhile, but we ended up going to the grocery and the mall. Cassandra, Bev and I bought some rollerblades, while at the same time flirting with the cutes saleman.

We made fajitas for dinner, and the evenings events were ready to begin. In uptown Minneapolis, there is this club, The Gay Nineties. Bev's friend Mark picked us up after we had all dressed up and glittered our bodies from head to toe. Mark is an awesome guy(gay) but extremely energetic. I would never be able to keep up with him. Well, we got to the club, and watch some drag shows, and then the dancing began. It wasn't that packed, but Dom and I went out there. We popped in some glow sticks and we were off. A bit later, Mark came up to us and started dancing. I felt really bad because Dom and I basically kept together while he "danced" next to us. I didn't know if he wanted me to dance with him…or what?! Anway, this basically kept up the whole night, and ever time Dom and I just walked off the dance floor…I still feel bad.

It was about one o'clock now, and the club was closing. We all hoped into Mark's car and headed home. I was so beat that I just plopped myself onto the couch and fell asleep.

It was a really fun night, and I just can't express into words how much I needed a night like tonight.
