November 12, 2000

I guess you can say that it was a pretty eventful day.

In the morning, I kind of skipped church. It wasn't because I was really being lazy, but I made some plans to meet with some of the guys from my old freshman honors seminar group. I have kept in contact with a select few of them, but as far as I was concerned, most of them dropped off the face of this earth.

I would like to think that as a group, my section was really close. By the end of the semester, we had really gotten to know each other. We even hung out every once in a while. So, I thought that since I was a leader myself this semester, I would take the initiative to email my group. After many emails, we finally had decided on a time and a place to meet.

Unfortunately, that time kind of conflicted with the time I usually go to church. Anyway, we had all planned to meet at our student union to eat there, but I guess the message kind of got mixed up, and a few people met at The Bohemian Bean. I kind of neglected to mention that the restaurant had recently closed down….oops!

When I finally saw other people in my honors group, we all decided to eat at Café Beaudelaire. I was really surprised because the food there was absolutely delish… I ordered a gyro, a dish that I can never pass up! Two hours later, our food was all gone, and we were all deep in conversation. It was really good to see what has happened to the guys in my old honors section.

I could have bet my life on the fact that we were probably going to feel uncomfortable at our little brunch, but it just never happened. It's good to know that the thirteen people in this group are people that I can always turn to if I really needed someone to turn to.

Later on in the evening, I went to a chapter meeting. It was the same old boring stuff. However, our social vp planned a little pie eating contest. I couldn't possibly pass up free food, so of course I was in the contest. The pies were homemade, and they weren't the best, but I guess they did the job. It really surprises me that I am as thin as I am, because I can eat like no other person that I've met.

I won the contest…

When we were all getting ready to leave, I was going to walk home with Dom. Well, I guess she had other plans. She said that she was leaving, but I had to do a couple of other things first. I told her to go on. But, it was weird because she was really being discreet, so I told her that I was going to walk home with some other people. Well, when I was ready to go, she was still standing in the hall with Jason.

Surprise, surprise…

I snidely said to her, "Hey, we're going home…are you coming with." She said that she was waiting for Jason, and I returned, "Oh, I thought that you had to get home. I guess you couldn't wait for me."

I was told to be nice, and I walked home.

It just seriously hurts when she hides things from me. I don't know what she thinks, but it is seriously needless. We end up fighting because of something happened, and it could have been easily avoided had she just told me the truth…

But I guess that there's nothing that I can do…and believe me, I've tried.
