February 4, 2001 Yippee Joy, there is going to be another pledge ceremony for a couple more people wanting to pledge for Alpha Phi Omega…I should just call them up and tell them to run away as far as possible…but I refrain. When I got to the meeting room, the pledges that were waiting were kids that I knew from honors. Two of them were fellow honors leaders, and the third was their friend. I was really surprised to see them there..but happy nonetheless. There was only six active brothers that actually showed up, and between the six of us…we will have to read eleven different speaking parts of the ceremony. After the pledging ceremony, we had the first pledge meeting, and then the exec meeting followed that. It seemed like a pretty productive night. After all the damn meetings, some of the execs stayed and we all bitched about what has been happening to out group. Of course Julie was there, so no one could really blame her boyfriend the president…but I'm sorry…some of the blame should be placed on him. I don't care how political everyone wants to be…someone really needs to say it… But I'm way to chicken shit to be the one to do it…. However, we did talk about trying to get some of un-active actives more involved. The exec of APO have to go to a meeting ever week… You wouldn't believe how boring it is for us. One week, we have out exec meeting, and then we go to the chapter meeting which is just the same exact thing as the exec meeting…but one or two more people. So, we thought that we could start doing less talking at the meetings and maybe think about doing more fellowship….and that way the people who have stopped coming to the meetings will want to come to the meetings because they are fun… I have my doubts about the whole thing, but I am all for anything that will bring about any change in this damn fraternity… |
