A gliderman is simply Airborne
Infantry.
The standard
issue uniform and webgear
are the same as the regular "leg"
infantry.
The basic webgear for a glider trooper
consist of
these items:
1) One pair of enlisted mens
Wool Shirt and
Trousers OR One pair of Herring Bone Twill
Combat Fatigues
2) M1936 Combat Suspenders
3) M1941 Field Jacket
4) M1 Steel Helmet
5) M1 Ammo Belt OR Pistol
Belt
6) One pair 3/4 Roughout boots,
(or equivalent BROWN flat soled boot) with leggings
OR
double buckle boots
7) Bayonet for personal weapon
OR Trench Knife
8) First Aid Carlisle Pouch
9) Wool "Jeep" Cap
OR HBT Fatigue Hat
10) M1936 Field "Musette"
Bag OR
M1928 Haversack w/out M1936 Combat Suspenders
11) M1943 Entrenching Tool OR
M1910 T-Handle Shovel
12) Canteen, Cup, and Carrying
Cover
13) One or Two Cloth "Khaki"
Ammo Bandoleer
14) "Khaki" Brass
or Steel buckled trouser belt
15) Underwear, T-shirt, and
