His and Hers and Hers again!
1964 Sprint Convertible, 1965 Sedan
Delivery, 1965 Ranchero
|
B.J. and Margie have owned their 1964 Sprint Convertible for over 20 years.
For fifteen years, B.J. drove it back and forth to work. Upon retiring from Ford
Motor Company in 1994, he restored it with some help from his friends. They
rebuilt the 289 engine, installed new red interior, put Granada brakes on the
front and "gave her a new paint job." This '64 has a chrome '65 grill
and B.J. removed some of the chrome emblems for a smoother look. |
Then Margie wanted a sedan delivery. After looking for three
years, they finally found a 1965 at the Charlotte Nationals in 1999. They
put in a new engine, radiator and ball joints. They fixed the brakes and
put new aluminum exhausts with Flowmasters on both. They painted it
Springtime Yellow with a matching leather interior, complete with Falcon
logo sewn into the interior side panels. In 2002, they added 16-inch
billet aluminum Torque Thrust wheels. In 2003 pale yellow ghost flames
were added to the front fenders, along with a pale yellow Falcon logo on
the side panels. Margie wanted yellow neon lights under the car, so they
were added in 2003 also. |
|
B.J. and Margie go to a lot of car shows and cruises and consistently win top
honors and lots of compliments!
At the 25th annual Falcon Club of America
National Convention, B.J. and Margie bought a third Falcon, a Ranchero that
will
be Margie's daily driver! They drove it home from Kansas City to Louisville with
no problems.
