One
lost sheep has found his way home - I accepted a Global sales
manager position with a local sporting goods company here in
San Francisco. I once again get to wear shorts to work and didn't
even have to take a paycut! Unfortunately, I won't be able to
provide any of my former coworkers with any leads yet, but I'll
keep my eyes peeled.
Thanks for providing a little sun at a gloomy time.
Cheers,
Chris King |
I
did get a job, it is with WebMD in Tennessee. Yes, I know
that is a long way away from CA, but my wife got transferred
right after I was laid off on 'black Tuesday'. If anyone
is thinking of moving out here, give them my address.
I'll help as much as I can.
Thanks,
Russ Kenney

I became gainfully employed with IDEC Pharmaceuticals as of
Sept. 16th. I am the Sr. Administrative Assistant to the VP,
of Clinical Oncology/Hematology. He is also an M.D. I had become
kind of discouraged just prior to getting the job. I had begun
to feel like I was going to have to take a pay cut. Then, all
of a sudden, I
received three offers within days of each other. All were for
more money than I was making at Peregrine. The job I selected
to accept is paying me 10% more than I was making at Peregrine.
Plus they gave me 1700 stock
options right up front (which is rare for an Admin). The benefits
are very comparable to Peregrine's
http://www.idecpharm.com/site/people/career_3.htm,
plus thecompany closes from Dec. 24th - Jan. 1st. We get fewer
holidays off, but the closure from Dec. 24 - Jan. 1 more than
makes up for it.
Anyway, try not to become discouraged. It should work out for
the best in most cases. |

Just
thought I'd drop you a note giving you an idea of where I ended
up. I left Peregrine on my own in August and lined up
a job at an Advertising Software firm based out of New York.
As a former Solution Consultant at Peregrine, I ultimately moved
over into a sales management role. Now, as an AVP of Sales
for Canada, I still refer back to my Peregrine days and use
many of the skills that were obtained there. Thank you
for all the support and education! It will never be forgotten!
