On December 5, 1839, he purchased a 2 story log and weather board house from William Gilmore. The deed says the property lies on north by E. Market St., extended on the south by E. Queen St. and on the west by an alley and on the east by a lot of Rosanna Shinabrook, 56' in front, a 2 story log and weather board house.
