First of all, I just want anyone to know they are welcome to come to any event. While we encourage people to come, we also encourage them to speak. Speaking at a roast is a great opportunity and it gives anyone a chance to become a member.

What does it take to become an affiliate?

Not much. All you do is have to speak. You don't have to do good or bad- that's your own perogative (sp?). It does not matter how long you speak either. Just make sure your at least telling jokes. Rattling off what you ate for breakfast and sitting down does not count. Although it would probably be funnier than some of the past performances.

What if I don't know a lot of people?

That gives you more of a good reason to speak. You can get away with all the mean jokes and not have to face the consequences. Just ask around or check the website for upcoming roasts to get dirt on people.

It is also a great opportunity to meet new people or get to know them better. Obviously, they came because they had something in common. It has helped bridge a lot of ties between people.

Why would I want to speak?

Great way to get an inside edge to starting into the amateur comedy scene. Keep in mind comics, to get an amateur night, you need experience. This is a great starting point. It is also a great opportunity for comedians to practice their delivery.

Great way to get over fears of public speaking and interpersonal speaking.

A good way to meet people with similar interests.

See if you are actually as funny as you think and tell your friends you are. Test it for yourself.

Opportunity to become a member of a non-profit organization that is growing.

Go ahead, e-mail me.

I want you to speak.
