Liesl
was born on August 17, 1979 in Norwalk, Connecticut and is the middle
child of three girls. Shortly after
she was born she and her family moved to London, England, followed by
Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. in the Middle East and in 1987
her family moved back to the United States to Far Hills, NJ.
Her first acting experience came in middle school when she was in "The
Wizard of Oz" and at that point
she was hooked. Although she had been singing since she was 8 years
old, this was her first taste of acting.
Once she got to high school she joined the Drama Club, participated in
the musicals spring plays
and one acts. She began taking musical theatre and acting classes
at HB Studio in NYC on her weekends and during
the summer of her junior year she enrolled at North Carolina School of
the Arts for a summer course
in Filmmaking and that was when she knew that TV and Film would be a part
of her future.
She graduated high school in 1997 and went on to college at the University
of NC at Greensboro where she
received her BFA in Acting degree in May of 2001. While at UNCG
she appeared on "Dawson's Creek,"
a CBS TV movie "Holy Joe" with John Ritter and commercials for
FORD Focus and Mountain Dew.
Upon graduation she moved back home, to NJ, for the summer and then to
Manhattan, NY on September 1, 2001
to pursue her acting career full time! Since her move to NYC she
has appeared on the daytime drama
"Guiding Light" and will be featured in the upcoming movie staring
Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Stiles
entitled "Mona Lisa Smile."
Liesl feels her travels around the world to Kenya, Australia, Sweden,
Bangkok, Argentina, Paris, Oman,
Tahiti, Italy, Hong Kong, and many others including having lived in London
and the U.A.E. have
familiarized her with many different cultures, customs, languages and
people. These experiences along with
the constant love and support from her family and friends has made her
a more diverse and open person,
which she hopes will allow her to have a positive influence on the people
she comes in contact with no matter where
her career does or does not take her.
