30. March, 2000

- The IMDb added this site to its QotD page!  J
Under Writing Credits, it also added Anne Rice (novel) - even though she has nothing to do with the film, they must still give her accreditation.

- I found out about a great Korn QotD Soundtrack Page!
This provided me with more information about the what's going on with the film's music.
Check it out in my Links Archive or Movie Info sections.

29. March, 2000

- The IMDb added brand new Composer credits on its QotD page. Original music will be by Richard Gibbs.
A Producion Notes/Status section was also added, recognising my submission that the movie is in pre-production.
Also added was Country (USA), Language (English) and Colour (colour).

22. March, 2000

- The IMDb added brand new producer credits to its QotD page. The producer will be:
Jorge Saralegui

- Also added were some of my previously submitted data:
1. Under 'Movie Connections' - That QotD follows 'Interview With The Vampire'.
2. Under 'Filming Locations' - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
3. Under 'Miscellaneous Links' - My QotD Yahoo Club!

- More of my submissions (eg. Wes as Lestat, this site etc.) are still awaiting entry onto the page.

19./20. March, 2000

- Searched all over the web to try and find new movie information. While I discovered several articles on several sites, they contained nothing new.

Today's efforts gave me my idea to start up my Links Archive section.

16. March, 2000

- I was quite amazed when, after my little message to Anne yesterday, a response had *suddenly* appeared on her website today! I know it wasn't me exactly - fans have probably been writing in for months - but it was amusing all the same.

Under the 'Announcements' section, there was "The Update You've Been Waiting For!". A new Phone Transcript had been posted dated 15. March (due to my Australian time difference, that means today!) Anne has a phone number where fans can ring to hear the latest news about her and her works. The transcripts are also posted on the web at her official website and, when updated, they are an extremely useful resource!

- The beginning of the new message read:

"To my wonderful readers and all those who tune in to the website, or the phone line.

I do not have any new information about the development of the film, QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, at Warner Brothers. I am not in direct contact with the studio. The best way for me to learn what is going on there is through the press or through your calls.

This is why I have not posted a message regarding the film.

I have heard that a young actor named Wes Bentley is in negotiations with Warners regarding the role of Lestat. But then, you know this. You all have been sending me messages about it because you have seen articles in the press.

I can tell you that I have seen Wes Bentley in AMERICAN BEAUTY and that I think he is a fabulous actor, a truly extraordinary actor. If he does become Lestat in a new film I believe he will bring great skill and depth to the role, just as Tom Cruise did in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE.

If you hear anything new about the Warner Bros. production of THE QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, please let me know."

J Hmmm, maybe I should tell her about my website?! J

15. March, 2000

- Visited The Official Anne Rice Website and couldn't find one single comment about the upcoming film! Of course, the site hasn't been updated since 8. February, so that may be part of the reason. However, Anne has openly condemned the project, so no news about the film is hardly surprising! Still, I think she could at least post *something* on her site, so I submitted a query to her 'You Asked, Anne Answered' section. I don't expect an answer to be posted anytime soon, but it's worth a try!

My question was: "Warner Brothers are now in the process of turning your third Vampire Chronicle, 'The Queen of the Damned', into a film. What are your true thoughts about this venture, and when will the remaining movie rights be returned to you?"

10. March, 2000

- The Internet Movie Database added some recommended/related movie titles to the QotD page. However, I was extremely surprised to find that 'Interview With The Vampire' wasn't on the list!

9. March, 2000

- 'The Queen of the Damned' *suddenly* appeared on the Internet Movie Database!   J
The page had very basic information though, with only the names of the director and story writer included in its description. The director will be Micheal Rymer and writing credits will go to Scott Abbott.

I decided to be even more helpful and submitted a lot of further information. These were the main character/actor, production company, production status, location, story outline, a recommended URL, and its movie connection to 'Interview With The Vampire'.
For all this information, please visit my Movie Information section.

8. March, 2000

- Watched 'The Movie Show' (an Australian movie review program where two reknown critics share their opinions every week). It was screened on Australian television from 7:30pm to 8:00pm on Channel SBS.

In their 'Movie News', the following information was officially confirmed:

1. Michael Rymer has been confirmed to direct Anne Rice's 'The Queen of the Damned'.
2. Scott Abbott will be responsible for the screenplay.
3. Wes Bentley (American Beauty) has been signed to play Lestat.
4. Other cast members are set to be confirmed very soon.
5. Filming is expected to begin in Melbourne, Australia in May.

7. March, 2000

- Visited the Internet Movie Database and was surprised to find that 'The Queen of the Damned' was not yet in their archives! I decided to be helpful and submitted the title to them...

27. February, 2000

- The day I first found out about the movie! It was by accident that I stumbled across the fabulous site, upcomingmovies.com, and it was there that I discovered the films's existence. I definitely recommend you check it out. I was shocked, yet somewhat excited by what I read...

- Today I also founded a 'Queen of the Damned' Yahoo Club dedicated to the discussion of the film. Feel free to join! (there's a link in the Menu)
