What's the Danger?
|
The Bible reveals that God has set aside a Day in which He will judge the world "in righteousness." Let me offer you evidence that this Day will come: 1. Despite what many people think, God's existence can be proven. It's not a matter of "faith." Faith is what you need to approach God, but proof of His existence doesn't need any trust at all. For example, evidence that a building had a builder, is a building. I couldn't want better proof that a builder existed, than to have his building in front of me. Proof of a painter, is the painting. A child can understand that. Proof of a Creator, is creation. Absolute proof that there was a Maker is the fact that things have been "made." Did anything you own not have a maker? Everything made has a maker. So, for those with the ability to think, there is no doubt at all about God's existence. Think now of how every society, no matter how seemingly primitive has court systems and punishment for transgression of their laws. If a man murders or steals, he is punished in some way. If mankind, with all our evils, believe in punishment for murderers and thieves, how much more will our Creator? Imagine that there was a judge in Florida, who consistently turned a blind eye to the crimes of the Mafia. Such a judge would be corrupt, and should be brought to justice himself. In one ten year period in the United States, there were 63,000 unsolved murders. That means that during that time, 63,000 murderers got away free. If God looks the other way, refusing to bring those 63,000 murderers to justice, He is corrupt. It makes sense that God should punish murderers, rapists, etc. If there is no Judgment Dayno ultimate justicethen Almighty God, the Creator of the universe is utterly corrupt. Such a thought couldn't be further from the truth. |
