Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion;
it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality.
But, of course, only those who have personality and emotion know what it means
to want to escape from these things.

--T.S. Eliot

Screams of Silence

The solitude of the night.
The beauty of the Darkness.
Eyes closed, yet more is revealed.
SILENCE....The Deafening Scream of Nothing.....

Hidden from all, and seeing more than Most.
A Grasp of Reality seen through the Darkness of the Night.
Sunlight enjoyed as a cast from the Glow of the Moon.
SILENCE.... The Deafening Scream of Nothing.....

These things I love more than anything.... and for you, I would Stand and
face the sun, nevermore to see the Night;
You have but to ask.........
~Stephan

O YOU whom I often and silently come where you are,
that I may be with you;
As I walk by your side, or sit near, or remain in the same room with you,
Little you know the subtle electric fire that for your sake
is playing within me.
--Walt Whitman

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever,
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single,
All things by law divine;
In another's being mingle --
Why not I with thine?

See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea --
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?
--Percy Bysshe Shelley
