An Unexpected Twist...

"A cloaked ship just landed in our hanger," a man sitting in front of a computer on the Aquarius base said to a tall man dressed in all black who was standing next to him.

"Which end?" the other one asked.

"East, platform 25."

"Okay Admiral Leta. Notify Briana, and I'll head down there and check this out."

"Yes sir," the Admiral replied.

Meanwhile, Elizebeth, Jerimiah, and Commander James Andes got off their shuttle in the unfamiliar docking bay.

"Well, which way do we go?" Jerimiah asked, looking over at Elizebeth.

"I have studied what few maps we have of Unified bases," she explained, "And it looks like we are in the main hanger. The main office should be down that hall, "she ended, pointing out the hall ahead of them.

With Elizebeth in the lead, they began to walk. Suddenly, she stopped in front of the hall, and stepped to the side, motioning them over.

"What's..." Jerimiah started.

"Shhh!" she warned in a whisper.

At her command, they stood in silence. Footsteps could then be heard, and they were headed in their general direction. A tall man with brown hair, medium complexion, and blue eyes dressed in black rounded the corner. he at once saw them.

"What are you doing...Elizebeth?" he suddenly sputtered, looking puzzled.

"Tibious, I had no idea you were here," she said, acknowledging him.

"Well, this base is partially mine. What are you doing here anyway?" he questioned.

Elizebeth was about to answer this when Jerimiah cut her off. "Excuse me, but would you mind telling us what's going on here?

"Sure," she answered, a little annoyed about being cut off. "This is Tibious Cartelle," she said introducing the other. "He worked with me in NASA for a while."

About this time, a female with long, jet black hair and dark eyes wearing a black A-line dress and cloak to match came through the hall. "Tibious, what is going on here?" she demanded.

Well," he replied, suddenly seeming a little nervous, "We haven't really gotten to that just yet. Briana, this is Elizebeth Smith, a former coworker of mine. Elizebeth, this is Briana Catalina, my partner."

"Ms. Catalina," Elizebeth began, "We didn't mean to intrude on your base, but my coworkers and I were wondering whose base this was. After all, it's here alone, so secluded..."

"Well, if you had looked closer," the other one snapped haughtily, "We're not the only ones out here in the Lion's Den galaxy. And as far as who owns them, I do."

"But," Elizebeth stuttered, "how?"

"Don't you worry your pretty little head about it," Briana growled. "It's mine, all mine, and that's all you need to know. It's not extremely wise for you to land unannounced in a strange base anyway. Go...and don't come back again!"

"Fine," Elizebeth responded, disgusted. "All we wanted to do was be friendly and extend pleasantries, but I can see we are not welcome here!"
