Chapter 1

Chapter 2

The time with the love of my life was brief. Let me explain with a flashback (you know you love those)...

Brian and I were unseperable, you find him, I was right beside him. Nothing stopped us from being together, we even spoke about marriage from time to time. We had known each other since we were 6, we knew everything about each other. But, to his dismay, I wasn't ready to make love to him until our senior year. We took a drive out to a private beach late at night, my favorite place for us to be alone. There, for the first time in our relationship we made love, and told each other how we felt for each other.

He held me under a soft blanket, he kissed my forehead softly, he then whispered, "I will love you always."

At the time, I felt nothing could stop him from being truthful to that, we even got engaged...then the unthinkable happened...

Typical day in class, Brian was across the room talking to his friends about me, me about him, when the principal came on the intercom, "Attention, will Brian Littrell please come to the front office." He looked at me, shrugged, and walked up there. I never saw him again. To this day I don't know what happened to him, where he went, what he thought. Now, after 7 years I am engaged to a wonderful man, who I know is the one for me. We're exactly alike in every way, except one thing. I still love Brian.

I awoke to my fiance Tommy nudging my arm. "Sweetheart?"

"Mmm," I moaned.

"We're late for the rehearsal," he said as I leaped.

"What!?! Tommy!" I whined jumping and running to the bathroom.

"Hey I didn't wake up late on purpose!" He complained as I sighed.

"I know, but hurry okay?" I said kissing him lightly. I ran into the shower and turned on the water.

In two days I was getting married to Tommy Jacobson, me, Megan Killian. I can remember back in high school how he used to try to look up my skirt during class and...I sighed, I remembered how Brian would smack him afterwards.

"Are you sure we can't take one together? It saves time!" He said as I smiled widely.

"That's okay Tommy, thanks for the offer sweetie!" I yelled with a laugh.

After I got dressed and waited for Tommy, I called my best friend Jessie on the phone.

"Jess?" I sighed.

"Where the hell are you the priest has a wedding to attend!" Jess said nervously.

"I know I know, Tommy and I are running late we'll be there shortly okay?" I said putting on my shoes.

"Okay I'll stall but if he leaves I tried," she said hanging up the phone. I sat down at my vanity and looked in the mirror.

"Mrs. Megan Jacobson," I said aloud. I shook my head at how lame that sounded. "Mrs. Tommy Jacobson." Then without even realizing it I said, "Mrs. Brian Littrell." After I said it I sighed and then opened my jewelry box. I grabbed a locket at the bottom of the box and opened it, inside a picture of Brian and me when we were young...

(flashback!)

"Happy 16th birthday Megan," Brian smiled happily as I looked at him with shock.

"You got me a present?" I asked ripping the paper.

"What are friends for right?" He said as I opened it. Inside was a beautiful locket, I smiled wide. "I remember breaking your other locket and I thought I should replace it," He explained as I put it on.

"What do you think?" I asked pointing to it.

"Beautiful," he said looking into my eyes. I blushed as did he. He pulled me in for the first kiss we ever shared, and the best I've ever...

"Megan?" Tommy asked as I jumped.

"God you scared me," I said with a smile.

"What were you doing?"

"Nothing," I said putting the locket back in the box.

"Sorry father," I said to the priest as we ran into the church.

"About a second longer and I would have ran out of jokes," Jessie said as I smiled.

"Thanks Jess," I said hugging her.

"Let's begin," he said as Tommy and I rushed to the front. "Bride, ring boy, flower girl, bridesmaids please go to the back until further instruction."

I walked back there with Jessie, "So I've been meaning to ask you," she said. "Have you thought about Brian at all through this?"

"What?" I yelled as I blushed with embarrassment. "Jess why would you think that?"

"Because you and Brian got engaged..."

"Yeah 7 years ago think about it," I said with a sigh, "I would never marry him now anyways, I haven't talked to him in 7 years and plus I have nothing to say to him ever again."

"Sure," she nodded as I looked at her with anger, "What? I know for a fact if Brian came back to you, you wouldn't think twice about marrying him over this loser," she said pointing to Tommy. Jessie and Brian we best friends throughout high school, she hated Tommy as much as Brian did.

"I can always get another maid of honor," I threatened as she laughed.

"Seriously Megan, what would you do if I told you I know where he is and what he¡Çs doing right now?" She said folding her arms.

"Who cares you don't know anyways," I said folding my arms the same ways.

"Who says I don't?" She said with a grin, "I talked to him last week."

"What?" I yelled again as the priest looked at me, "Sorry father!" I whispered.

"I did, and he asked me about you."

"What did he say?" I asked curiously.

"Why do you want to know? Who cares right?"

"Right," I said nodding my head.

"You twisted my arm..." she said, "I'll tell you. He asked how you were, what happened when he left, and if you still...oh nevermind you're getting married remember?"

"Tell me Jess or the maid of honor gig is gone!"

"He asked me if you still loved him," she said as I looked down at the ground. I was speechless.

"What...what did you tell him?" I asked hesistantly.

"I told him that he'd have to ask you himself," she said as I looked at her.

"Good answer," I nodded, "you¡Çre officially still my maid of honor," I grinned.

"Ladies?" The priest said as we looked at him, "please we are in a hurry."

"Sorry father," we said at the same time as we paid attention. I kept thinking about what Brian asked...

After the rehearsal, Jessie and I ran down to the bathrooms.

"What else did he say?" I asked anxiously.

"I don't know if you want to hear this," she said putting on her lipstick.

"Is it bad?" I asked.

"I don't know, to me no," she said blotting her lips.

"Don't tell me then," I shook my head, "whatever you think is good I know I'll hate."

"Suit yourself," she said putting her lipstick back in her purse and opening the bathroom door, "coming?"

"Megan are you coming with me or going with Jessica?" Tommy asked as Jessie rolled her eyes.

"You don't have to be so formal Tommy it's Jessie."

"Whatever," he shrugged.

"Well actually Jessie and I were..."

"That's okay, I have work to do before the honeymoon, I'll see you later," he interrupted kissing my cheek.

"Men," Jessie said as I followed her out to her car.

"Don't start Jess," I groaned hopping into the convertible.

"On a better note, anything else you need to do before we go out to eat?" She asked starting the car.

"Well I do, but I don't think I'll do it," I sighed.

"You can tell me Megan, I'll help," she said nodding.

"I was going to invite Brian's parents and his brother. I mean they were like family to me forever," I said as Jessie smiled.

"Great, let's go," she said pulling out of the church and onto the highway.

"Jessie I don't want to I changed my mind," I said nervously.

"Why not? I mean why wouldn't they want to go after you promised to spend the rest of your life with their son?" She shrugged with a laugh, "I'm just kidding. Don't worry about it they love you and you know it."

"I guess..."
