Hello again, LDZ Community-
Here we are again with another brand-new-packed issue of the 'zine. Matchbox 20 fan fiction is the feature of this issue. There's tons of news, the new top 10 lists, and loads more. As always, be sure to send any comments, suggestions, complaints, to any of us. Hopefully, when time for the new album comes nearer LDZ issues will be on it's monthly time slot. Matchbox 20 will be doing a Pay-Per-View Concert.

Saturday, May 1st, 1999
We here at Matchbox20 Headquarters are happy to announce that on May 1st, 1999, there will be a live concert, taped in Australia, being broadcast on Pay-Per-View for all our goodfriends in the U.S.
During the broadcast you will see behind the scenes footage of the guys backstage, hangin' around and causing as much trouble as possible. We have NOT forgotten our international pals (and dear friends from Australia)...have no fear...we are in the middle of working out similar plans to insure you all get to see the concert as well.
Exact dates and details for International markets will be posted here . We will let you all know as soon as we have more
definitive times. No sad faces....We NEVER forget about you guys. Promise! = )

On behalf of Rob and his family, we would like to share with you some very special and EXCLUSIVE news. Rob and his fiance Marisol have set their wedding date! The two are set to be wed October 2, 1999 in California. On behalf of his fan club, we would like to extend our deepest wishes of lifetime happiness for the couple. Congratulations Rob! You heard it here first! Also, according to Rob's sister, MB20 should start recording a new album in April. For those of you who asked about Rob's solo album, it appears this
was just a rumor!
There were reports that Atlantic Records Officials were telling webmasters to take their Matchbox 20 sites down,but Adam was notified and it was all a hoax. It caused a lot of frenzy! YOSLY Record Sales have reached 8 million, but they are no longer in the top
50. Matchbox 20 is scheduled to start recording the new album this summer.

Hello! Wonder if this is news to anyone else, but just in case... VH1 is now showing "Back 2 Good" from the Live from Australia home video. I was completely overwhelmed. It was wonderful! The crowd is in love; the guys are dripping wet but still looking beautiful; they sound magical; and Rob adds an extra line at the end of the song (it doesn't get any better than that, does it?) and as though a cap on the tour, a nostalgic wink (to Adam, perhaps representative of all of m20--wow, what a ride it's been!)

Her hands were clinging to each other, her breath harsh and short.
"Come on Mon' get it together!" she said to herself, silently. Her dad looked over and noticed how tense she was. "Monica! Relax.... you're acting like you've never heard this band before, come on it's only a concert!" She tried to talk, but her mouth was completely dry. Taking a huge gulp of her water she replied, "But they aren't just any band Dad!".
Monica's dad knew all too well how deeply she adored Matchbox20, he heard them in the house often enough. He even knew the words to 'Busted'. Finally he pulled up in front of the stadium and said "Ok! have fun, call when it's over".
"I will Dad, bye!" she smiled his favorite smile as she shut the car door.
The 19 year old college student walked nervously towards the door. She took the ticket out of her purse, looked at it then put it back. She looked around for one of her 2 best friends, Kathy. Her other one was stuck in Maryland desperately trying to find some sort of genetic connection between humans and fish. Hanna lived for her work, she loved
it, besides you couldn't drag her away from her Backstreet Boys cd if you put her house on fire! (naahh just kidding).
Suddenly Monica heard Kathy's voice. "Mon!" Monica whipped around and saw her beautiful blonde friend running towards her. Monica met Kathy some time ago when she went to New York for a weekend. The two of them hit right off and immediately became best friends. Kathy, Monica always thought, was just gorgeous. She had shining blonde, long hair, huge blue eyes and an amazingly warm smile. Monica wished Hanna
was there with them. Hanna was like a sister to her. Hanna was just beautiful, with jet black hair, bright brown eyes, and a brilliant mind.
"Are you excited!?" Kathy asked her friend.
"Do you really have to ask!?" Monica answered, smiling. "Come on, let's go in!"
The 2 girls entered and gave the ticketeer the tickets and found their seats 4th row, near the right. Several other people were already there, and soon the room filled up quickly and the show began.
A huge lump was forming in Monica's throat. Matchbox20 meant so much to her. They were her only solace, they were the ones who'd grabbed her from depression. Now she was seeing them, finally, face to face. Her joy was starting to overwhelm her.
"Monica... just let it out..." Kathy said, knowing full well Monica hated to cry in public. So Monica fought the years back and just let the music fill her soul. Push was the last song... that was Monica's song. When Rob, the brilliant lead signer, sang 'cra-a-zy' she couldn't help but collapse to her chair and cry. When she finally looked up she had
caught Adam's, the rhythm guitarist, eye. He'd been looking at her cry. She felt her ears burn, then Kathy say to her "Monica? What wrong you're all red!"
"Adam was staring at me!" she yelled back to her friend, embarrassed.
Adam just smiled. The show ended and everyone ran out to try and catch the band. Kathy and Monica stayed behind until everyone left, then slowly headed out. The
band was out there signing autographs, surprisingly though there weren't that many people around. Monica could feel the tears swelling up again.
"Well aren't you going to go talk to them?!" Kathy said.
"nN.. honey I'll just be crying, and look like an idiot!"
"Oh nonsense!" Kathy said, and took Monica's hand and dragged her over to Rob.
"Excuse me Rob? This is my friend Monica, she has something to tell you".
Rob smiled and looked at Monica. She could feel her reddish brown hair being a mess and her eyes red from crying.
"No she doesn't... I'm sorry for the interruption" Monica said, feeling tears run down her face, and went outside. She walked a bit then sat on the curb and cried. The brilliance of her favorite band had taken over. Meanwhile Kathy told Rob about Monica, and her situation. And told him all the stuff Monica couldn't tell him. Kathy knew better than anyone how badly she needed this band. Rob listened intently and full of awe.
"Monica's just very sensitive Rob... she'll cry at nearly anything. But she's the most lively person I've ever met, partly due to you and the band."
Monica laid her head on her knees and sobbed. She was wearing only her jeans, her yellow tank top, socks and sneakers. It was a chilly night and she hadn't brought a jacket. She wiped her eyes and prepared to go inside. She took the mirror from her purse and looked at herself. Her eyes still red, but at least there was no make-up dripping. Her short red brown hair stuck to her forehead, she pushed her hand through the small curls. She desperately needed to blow her nose, and she searched
her bag for some tissue, none.
"Here... you might need this." a voice said from behind her, through the gate.
She turned around and saw Adam Gaynor handing her some tissue through the fence. She took it and thanked him. Blew her nose and threw it away in a nearby garbage can. Adam hopped the fence and sat next to Monica.
"So you ok?"
"I- I'm fine"
Adam just gave her a look that clearly said 'Yeah right! why bother lying?'
She sighed and began to tell him why she was out there in the 50 degree weather crying. Adam leaned back against the fence, put his knees up and stared into her eyes all the time she talked. It made her nervous. But she continued to tell him everything.
They heard footsteps approaching them, Monica spinned around and saw Kathy coming towards them.
"Hey Monkey.... I told Rob... everything. I had to tell him, you'd hate yourself if he didn't know... I know he's not just a crush for you..." Kathy said. Monica couldn't help noticing Adam's shocked face, and he couldn't help but be shocked. This girl had a huge crush on Rob....
Monica had always adored Adam, but it was Rob she wanted.
"He wants to talk to you" Kathy said.
Monica got up and said to Adam "Adam... thanks for listening." And they walked off.
Monica and Rob talked a bit alone away from everyone. She could feel him moving in, she had always imagined kissing Rob. But she couldn't' do it. She just couldn't. For some reason she kept seeing Adam's shocked face. She couldn't understand it... all she ever wanted was Rob's angelic lips.. his skin, his flesh, his being... and now when she has it, she couldn't take it.
"Rob, I'm sorry, I can't...."
And she left to go find a pay phone. Monica and Kathy were getting ready to dial when Adam tapped Monica on the shoulder. She hung up the phone and whipped around.
"Monica. Do you want to spend the night with me?" Adam's words shocked her.
"Adam, I'm not going to have sex with you... I'm going home".
"No no... I don't mean that... just, let's talk some more... not doing anything. I can give you a ride tomorrow."
Monica wanted to, she really did. "What hotel are you staying in?"
"The Merriota" he replied.
That was the hotel Kathy was staying in. Monica called her dad and told him she was staying with Kathy in her hotel room that night. The three of them walked towards the hotel. Kathy's room was on the 2nd story, Adam's was on the 5th. Monica said good-bye to Kathy. Kathy gave her a look, smiled and went inside her hotel room.
"Not a word Kat-Kat" Monica said.
"Did you really have to tell me?"
"Naah I'll phone you tomorrow, love ya baby!"
"Love you too..."
"So who's that?" Adam asked as they rode up in the elevator.
"Oh that's one of my 2 best friends, Kathy, she's visiting from New York."
"So who's your other best friend?"
"Her name's Hanna... she's in Maryland doing her scientific experiments"
The elevator door swung open and she followed Adam to his room. Just as Adam opened his door, the door next to them opened and Monica saw Rob coming out.
"Rob... ummm hi"
"Oh hi Monica... well I guess I don't have to ask why you didn't want to kiss me... were all those words your friend told me just some stupid lie?!"
"Rob! No of course not every word was true.... sigh Rob.. I... damn I can't explain myself right now... I'm sorry Adam I gotta go" she said and headed towards the elevator.
"What the hell was that all about!?" she heard Adam say to Rob as the door shut.
She couldn't believe what confusion was going on. She knocked on Kathy's door, a minute later it swung open.
"Mon! What happened?"
Monica entered and sat on the bed. "As Adam opened the door the door next to us opened and Rob came out...."
"So?"
"So when I went to go talk to him he wanted to kiss me...but I couldn't do it! I kept picturing Adam! Then Rob sees me going in Adam's hotel room with him... and ehh it's a mess!"
"Oh good lord!"
"Mind if I crash here... okokok I know I don't have to ask" she said trying to smile. "I gotta wash my face" she said and entered the bathroom. She washed her face and wet her hair a bit, combed it then went back out.
"Feel better?"
"Yeah a little.. can I call Hanna, I'll pay ya later...?"
"Yeah sure."
Monica sat down and punched in the number.
"Han?... It's me... ha! yeah... how's the fish?..... oh the concert was great! It's what happened after that is just icky!.... well ok I'm outside crying... yeah I know I'm a woos.... and Adam comes up and we get to talking, well at the mean time Kathy's telling Rob like how much I love mb20, cause ya know he NEEDS to know. So then she comes out to where I am and tells me that Rob wants to see me... what?... oh yeah! I
know it's crazy.... but anyway, I go see Rob and like he wants to kiss me, and I can NOT do it!... I know! It's insane!..... so then I just want to go home, so Kathy and I go to call my dad, and Adam comes up behind me, then asks me if I want to stay with him in his hotel... no! not like sex, just talking.... so I really really want to, so I say yeah. So we as we're opening his hotel door, the door next to us opens and out comes Rob! .... yes! it's a mess right now!.... yeah ... I know".
The two friends talked a while more then finally hung up. Monica entered the other room, only to see Rob, Adam and Kathy sitting down.
"What are you guys doing here?!"
"We deserve an explanation Monica" Rob said, clearly bewildered.
"Sigh ok... Rob, I have loved you madly since I ever heard your voice... I just wanted nothing more than you!" She said, feeling a lump in her throat. She sat down and continued. "But when... when you were going to kiss me, I kept seeing Adam's face I couldn't help it! I couldn't kiss you."
"So you like me now?" Adam asked.
"No! I mean... I don't think so... I think I just needed some one to talk to.. and I felt so open with you Adam".
"So then why didn't you just talk to Kathy?" Rob asked.
"Oh believe me... she'd have to either talk one of you" Kathy said drinking some water.
"All I know you guys is that I adore and love Matchbox20... but then all of sudden be so close to them... it's too overwhelming and I don't know how to deal with it... I mean I'm just a college student, I have to go back to school Monday, and then you 2 will have forgotten about me...".
"How old are you both?" Rob asked.
"I'm 15 and Mon is 19" Kathy said, sitting next to her friend.
"You are aware that I'm 33?" Adam asked.
"Does it matter?"
"No..."
"Guys I should just never have let it get this far! I should have just gone home... I'm very glad that Kathy told you Rob, she's right you did need to know... and you know now... so I thank you for not shrugging it off... let's just say a fan told you she likes the music and forget this happened."
"Can I just say one thing?" Rob asked.
"Sure what is it?"
"This" he said and kissed her.
