Two weeks had passed, and Micki's wedding was coming closer and closer. Micki invited AJ and his four other friends to come to the wedding, even if it was last minute. It was now four days until she would be Matt's wife. AJ and her talked every day, which made her happy.
"Micki!"AJ called from a bench at the movies. The two were planning on going to a movie and dinner, Matt was out with some friends tonight, so Micki didn't care.
"AJ!" Micki exclaimed and reached up and hugged her suddenly close friend.
Micki inhaled AJ's sweet scent and held it in as long as possible. She didnt want to let go of AJ, but she knew she had to. Why couldn't he have told her he loved her? Micki shook the thought out of her head and AJ and her walked ot the ticket booth and stood in line.
"Well, are you excited?" AJ asked looking kind of distant.
"In a way," Micki answered looking down at her fingers.
AJ raised an eyebrow and Micki caught a slight smile emerg from his lips.
"In a way?" AJ asked.
"Well, yeah, in a way Im glad to marry someone, but in a way, Im not sure if he is the right person," Micki blurted out. <"Care to explain?" AJ asked.
"Not really," Micki said regretting her words.
AJ and Micki got their movie tickets and went into the theater. They took their seats in the far back and sat silently waiting for the movie to begin. Micki wanted so badly to just reach over and kiss AJ, but she knew she couldn't, it wouldn't be right, besides what if he rejected her? She would be so embarrassed and hurt, it would just be unbearable. The theater went dark as the previews began to roll. Micki started to think, she wanted so badly to just have AJ hold her and kiss her and tell her he loved her. She knew though, that wouldnt happen.
Later, after the movie~
"LaDawn!" Micki shrieked as she saw her best friend emerging from the near by ice cream shop, with Brian at her side.
"Micki!"LaDawn returned the enthusiasm.
"Hey Brian," AJ said nodding at his friend.
AJ's face turned an interesting shade of red as Brian laughed.
LaDawn was grinning from ear to ear and she looked so happy.
"Hey, I'll call you later, ok Micki?" LaDawn asked nodding towards Brian, a hint that she wanted to be left alone with her hottie.
"No problem, have fun," Micki said smiling and AJ and her walked off, leaving Brian and LaDawn.
"That's so cool that LaDawn and Brian are hooking up," Micki gushed.
"Yeah," AJ mumbled.
"What's wrong?" Micki asked concerned.
"A long story that I dont want to go into," AJ told her.
"Ok," Micki mumbled.
Day of the Wedding~
"Are you nervous?" Megan asked her best friend. Micki looked like she was about to be in tears. It was ten minutes before the wedding was to start. Micki was in her beautiful gown, her hair up with the veil around it. Her makeup was done and the only thing she had left to do was worry.
"I'm so happy for you," LaDawn said kissing her friend's cheek.
"Thanks," Micki said forcing a smile.
"I can't believe you are getting married, but then again, we always expected you to get married first out of all of us," Adrienne said.
Micki smiled, still nervous.
All her friend's looked gorgeous in their gowns. She almost cried just looking at them.
"Can't cry now, your mascara will run," Alexis said grinning.
"You guys look so beautiful," Micki squeaked.
"I know," LaDawn said laughing.
Micki laughed along with her friends. She tried to calm herself as her heart pounded and fear was crawling all over her. She looked outside and into the garden where the wedding was set up. Everything looked too perfect to be true.
There was a knock on the bedroom door and Micki looked at all her friends.
"I'll get it," Adrienne offered opening the door, just a crack.
"It's your father, Micki," Adrienne told her.
Micki turned around and her father stood before her. She smiled at her dad and hugged him. She could hear her father sniffing.
Micki pulled away and smiled at her father.
"You look beautiful," he said smiling.
"Thanks Daddy," Micki said, tears returning to her eyes.
"I was hoping I'd never have to give away my other daughter, but I guess that's just how it works out," he said.
Micki smiled and hugged her father once again. Just as she pulled away, her mother walked into the room.
"You look so beautiful," her mother said admiring her daughter.
"Thanks, Mom," Micki said hugging her mother.
"Well, I have to go take my seat, the wedding is going to start in a few minutes," she said as she kissed her daughter and left the room.
Micki looked nervously as everyone began to flood out of the room. Her and her father were the last to leave.
Micki looked back into the room and wiped away a tear. Today she was growing up and becoming a real woman, too bad she wasn't doing this with AJ.
